fatter and slower since HS?
He looks much more agile and fleet of foot during his senior year and hit the deep balls routinely.

He's not fat. I understand you want to win. He's never going to be fleet-footed like mahomes. He still needs and OL to block for him.
I simply watched his old highlights and noticed something obvious. Not sure why you are digging so deep into something I never said.
A fatter person like Dylan will run slower than a not-fat person.

He is soft and takes 8 steps to pick up below avg speed and if he trimmed 15lbs of adipose tissue he would gain some quickness----truth

He has poor throwing mechanics particularly on deep balls.---truth

Frequently does not step into his throws---truth

intermediate passes are not sharp and lacks a tight spiral---truth

All of this being said he could overcome these issues but my opinion is that he believes the over hype that he is of elite arm talent ---(He is not) and doesnt recognize or have enough self awareness to understand this fact and so therefore why would he change. ---truth

He needs to know he doesn't "own" the QB1 spot regardless of daddy and Donny. He needs to know he's replacable and right now he's spoiled.

he needs to be fired with rhule...we need to go back to the triple option and do it the way dr. tom did..
pass happy fans should be deported from the Lincoln head office...
the linemen and recivers can learn to run block or hit the road..
we need a workhorse back and a qb that doesn't run like jerry kids..
blackshirts should only go to players that can tackle.

It feels like he is afraid to let the ball fly when against man. Like he's too risk adverse and ends up eating it.
I think his arm or hand is injured. I know they said he had injured his hand early this fall. Not sure if it was really his hand or if it’s higher up but it looks obvious to me that there’s something physically wrong in addition to the leg injury he sustained against Maryland.

This was a dangerous game before pedo state fired Franklin.

What I saw was a team unsure of their coach and a coach focused elsewhere.

For good or bad, I think we all know now. I am going to wait until next week and see how the team rebounds, if at all.

Last night was very disappointing, and I tuned out by 4th Quarter. Disappointing, but not surprising in my opinion.

Excellent logical take.

Sadly much of this seems true

Except the elite arm talent. I think he does but has become too enamored with Mahomes arm angle throws

Kind of like a kid that could shoot trying to make every shot a fadeaway J to be like Jordan.

Sorry but he's bigger , and looks fat when he does not have a flack jacket on.

Just look at the gut he carries around. I have one of those and my wife says I'm fat ... so he's FAT.

Mahomes wasn't Mahomes until he was halfway into his 20s...and Mahomes could run, and had an elite arm, like 90+ mph fastball without training. Comparing Dylan to Mahomes is just a disservice. He is a naturally talented passer, but different arm angles and being tall and thicc is only one small part of being a good qb. Qbs need accountability to continue to improve technique and the mental side of the game, he has no pressure to improve and has always had excuses, like the oline is bad. And when he wings it, like against Maryland he threw some bad picks. He is very good for a true sophomore, playing at a bad school, with two OCs in two years but not good enough to carry us. His 5 star rating, family ties have probably stunted his growth and ours greater than we would like to admit. Rhule should have saved money for a strong defense, brought in a good physical qb who could run and pass, and built a strong physical offense that could control the run game. Right now we have a decent qb who costs north of 2 million and really no other NFL talent.

a lot of what i read here is similar to what is said about avery johnson down here. naturally, they don't look as nimble and accurate playing college ball as high school. football more than any other sport is a 'team' game - for a qb the o'line and receivers are critical. and oh yeah, quarterbacks get too much of the credit when winning and blah, blah, you know the line. much of their "perceived" failure results from absurd fan expectations, bad play around them, and coaching acumen.

Adam Carriker brought Dylan's weight issue up around the 16:45 mark in the video and how Rhule didn't want it discussed

WTH. His weight isn’t a problem. Hasn’t anybody watched video of Tagge running option? Rimmington? He looked like the Pillsbury Dough Boy. I don’t give a **** what Dylan weighs. I’ve listened to multiple NFL players say that the “muscle pig” guys were always the ones who got injured. DYLAN’s WEIGHT ISN’T OUR PROBLEM! It’s a combination of our play calling, O line struggles and him holding the ball too long on slow developing pass plays.

Defenses have figured him out. Tight man defense and some pressure, along with our porous o-line, will lead to sacks and negative plays. He doesn't like throwing to guys that aren't wide open and his deep throws lack accuracy. When he has time he's elite, but when he is pressured with tight man coverage he doesn't want to throw a pick. He's like a immobile version of Shedeur Sanders.
