Did I miss the news about Dak Prescott?

Was listening to the Buddy Songy show at lunch and they were talking about recruiting. A caller called in and said I really hope we can keep this Prescott kid. He's a good athlete and wants to play QB in college, but we already have commitments from 2 top QB's. He will probably play another position when he gets here (Baton Rouge), because he's such a good athlete.

Where the 17 was this guy getting his information and why in the 17 would Dak want to go somewhere with 2 qb's on roster, a committment from Phillip Rivers, and as of this morning a commitment from the top JUCO QB? Just wondering why these idiots think they have him in the bag and he will be in purple and gold in 2011.

The Ellis Yeaux recruiting analyst for BayouBengalsInsider.com was on the show talking about Zach mettenberger calling him this morning to tell of his Commitment and before he got off air, he said he expects some more good news for their recruiting class in the next few days. The host from 104.5 ESPN said "you can't leave everybody hanging on this, who is it about?" His reply was that we had another qb recruit on a visit this weekend and he told me last night he would make an announcement in a couple days. The host then said' "oh you mean Prescott." which was then followed by "yes I expect him to make his announcement this week and it looks good for Ellis Yeaux."

Where is all of this coming from? Was he given the Newton special this past weekend while all SEC attention was I'm Atlanta?

I have very little confidence we hold Prescott. We better have a good backup plan in place. I think it would be very unwise of him to go to LSU given the QB logjam and Miles history with QBs (if he even stays at the position should he go to LSU) but he got the offer and from what I hear he grew up wanting to go there.

Miles finding an opportunity to keep a potential starting SECQB from going to another school in the same division. He has no intention of playing Dak at QB and is hoping he doesnt come to State because he fits our offense. Look what happened to Russell Shepard. This would be a pretty big blow to our incoming class, since he would be enrolling in January.

What happened to that QB from Tupelo (I believe) that was a Bulldawg, but committed to LSU and then supposedly wanted to transfer? YES, I'm out of the know.

not many people are as dumb as Chris Garrett, but I still doubt he would be playing here. Oh well.

It's going to make it really, REALLY important that we go all out and get Jeremy Liggens from Lafayette next year, and maybe to a lesser degree Anthony Alford. I just think that Alford ends up playing baseball, though.

I think our back-up plan for Dak Prescott is Dominique Harris from Southaven.
