that just said we need to give Stoops a minimum of 7 years?
If I heard it correct that was the case.
Three tools in the same box: MJ, Ryan Lemming and the caller.
Ignorance going to seed and taking root!

Well in all due respect it was a gift card to Wendys.

Wendy's or not, huge fail IMO. 7 freaking years!?!?!?!? Which one of the Stoops boys made that call anyway?

Really thought he could do it but it just isn't working out.

I know. I'm really losing my patience with those people as well. I honestly think we have fans that don't care if we win or not they just want to support the coach no matter what. The problem with UK football is that there has never been any sense of accountability. If the coach doesn't win, well it doesnt matter he's sticking around for 2 more years anyway. If the AD botches the contract and sends us in to a tail spin for decades, doesnt matter he's not going anywhere either. I honestly don't know what you actually need to mess up to get fired as a coach at Kentucky.

Apparently cheating on your wife would get you fired at UK.

I've had quite the difficult time understanding how the biggest mouthpiece for uk sports is a lawyer with a degree from duke.

People got sucked in because he's easily available for UK athletics and our younger fans grew up listening to him. I know guys that hate his politics and his positions, but they can't let him go because of this.

It's easy for me. After being a member of TBK and seeing him steal fake info and report it, I knew immediately he's a hack who down talks Kentucky people and uses them for personal gain.

Sad some can't see through it.

Jones doesn't want to rock the boat. Right now he's got access to the program and he doesn't want to jeopardize that. He's morphed into some kind of quasi-journalist/politician/comedian/political commentator/UK public relations man. It's an interesting combo. He's got his finger in a lot of pies, but he better keep listening to the marching orders from Mitch if he wants to continue getting the backstage pass.

If Matt Jones giving Wendy's call of the day to anyone is the problem with UK football, them we have problems that simply can't be fixed by anyone using any method.

Jones went to Duke Law School and hated every minite of it. He was thinking about UK, basketball and football, for entire three years he was at Duke

He explained it just the other day on his show. It was an opportunity to graduate debt free with a law degree from a prestigious university. It had nothing to do with being a Duke fan.

Again, I like Matt and his show. However, I have been critical of his handling of UK football and Mitch Barnhart. But, criticizing a guy for going to Duke law school is silly. It's a great school offering a great education. I think you guys using that are being unfair. There's plenty to critique regarding the kid gloves with Mitch without using that.

He said it was the only elite law school he got accepted to that offered a full ride. Can't say i blame him. You can pay for Harvard or Virginia, or have duke pay you.

Believe it or not, some people have a different opinion than you. I don't think the thought process is too far off. Building a program takes time (yes, more than 4 years). We're bringing in better recruits than we ever have. The new facilities (spearheaded by Stoops mind you), should only further those efforts.

When we hired Stoops, we knew that as a first time head coach and that there would be bumps along the road. If it wasn't for the Southern Mississippi game this year, we would be exactly where we thought we would be right now. I know losing that game was a big deal but it's not the end of the world like some people like to think.

In order to compete with the big boys on the SEC, you don't just need one or two good recruiting classes. You need great classes year in and year out. 2014 had a lot of key misses and defections that have put us behind the 8 ball, but 2015 and 16 are already proving to be better maybe than even their reputations. Our team in one of the youngest in the NCAA and many are playing bigger than should be expected of them at this point in their career.

Blowing all that up right now because of one damn loss seems incredibly short sighted to me. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Because of 1 loss? Do you even watch the games? We have 5 SEC wins in 3 1/3 seasons of play and will be lucky to have 7 total by the end of year 4. Why is that acceptable to you?

Does anyone realize that this post wasn't true? He pushed back on the guy for saying Stoops deserved more years. He said by that logic, Joker shouldn't have been fired.

You guys crack me up. Jones has openly said Stoops will have to be fired if he wins 4 games or less and 5 will result in fan loss and a miserable year next year. You know that Mitch hates to hear that type of pressure being put on him publicly.

jones also said the school was going to release a statement about the stoops rumors. that was not correct.

you seemed to think people want stoops gone because of 1 game lost. but it's a lot more than that - it's over 3 seasons of miscues, wrong hires, poor preparation and bad game mgt. and trend not in right direction. that's why people want him gone. not 1 lost game.
