Believe it or not, some people have a different opinion than you. I don't think the thought process is too far off. Building a program takes time (yes, more than 4 years). We're bringing in better recruits than we ever have. The new facilities (spearheaded by Stoops mind you), should only further those efforts.
When we hired Stoops, we knew that as a first time head coach and that there would be bumps along the road. If it wasn't for the Southern Mississippi game this year, we would be exactly where we thought we would be right now. I know losing that game was a big deal but it's not the end of the world like some people like to think.
In order to compete with the big boys on the SEC, you don't just need one or two good recruiting classes. You need great classes year in and year out. 2014 had a lot of key misses and defections that have put us behind the 8 ball, but 2015 and 16 are already proving to be better maybe than even their reputations. Our team in one of the youngest in the NCAA and many are playing bigger than should be expected of them at this point in their career.
Blowing all that up right now because of one damn loss seems incredibly short sighted to me. Rome wasn't built in a day.
