Did Sidney's lawyer just give in?

"Following a fourth document request, the Sidney family produced a third volume of documents to the NCAA today. The voluminous volume of documents included complete loan files from FDIC regulated financial institutions, income tax returns, travel records, airline records, hotel records. "

Or am I missing something?

If so, why all of the public brouhaha and why didn't he just send this crap a long time ago?

I hope we'll get an answer soon. One way or the other.

he turned over a bunch of **** but not the bank records are at the center of this whole thing.

I believe he actually states that he WILL NOT turn over the bank records that they are requesting.

I don't think that this case has progressed one inch. We are still at a stand still with neither side willing to blink.

The voluminous volume
you are missing something. they didn't include bank statements, which, i believe, is that the NCAA wants. they're only sending "loan files" from FDIC regulated financial institutions, not all account files. plus, maybe they stashed cash in the caymans - not FDIC regulated institutions...

i don't understand why income tax returns would not be sufficient, which they are now sending.

It's bank records they want and bank records they will not get... according to Jackson.

turn them in for tax evasion if they find a discrepancy between bank records and tax returns.

Surely, if they were receiving improper benefits, they were not receiving them in a personal bank account.

Which begs the question, why?

I've always thought that this would end with Sidney being cleared sometime after the start of the season, but if Jackson is going to keep holding out, I won't be shocked if he isn't cleared.

complete impasse. One of two things must happen, he turns over the bank records or he gets intervention from a court. Neither will happen anytime soon and he'll head on to Europe or the NBA. The window where it benefits him to play college ball is one year, one season. This thing will be at a standoff beyond that. Jackson is trying to stimulate some progress on this, but the fact is that the NCAA doesn't have to clear him and will not do so without his bank records. Obviously, his bank records are not exculpatory and he will therefore not produce them.

If this it true, then we'll see yet another player in the NBA that was ALMOST on the court for the Bulldogs.

If I get a ton of cash, then I just buy a safe and keep it there and spend the hell out of it...
But I think they had to pay the rent on the house somehow. I think the NCAA is wanting to follow the cash or lack thereof in this case. I am betting that the rent was not paid at all by the Sidney's, see USC and R. Bush. They lived rent free and the NCAA wants to see canceled checks paid for the rent on the houses, problem is there are none.
