Did we just get a commitment from Jake Thomas?

The scout report was pretty generic, praising size and athleticism. However, he only had us and TSUN listed. What are we getting here that the reports don't say? How will he compare with Mix or other OT that we have gotten in the recent past? I am really liking the OL players that we have committed in this class assuming they continue to develop.

Thomas pancaking folks or the fact that every play Channing Ward got beat on, he just stood there. No chasing or pursuing at all. Talent ain't worth crap if its that lazy.

He'sdefinitelya tackle. Has long arms and carries his weight well. He doesn't look like 300 lbs, and probably really isn't. I think he could easily get to the 325lb range.<div>He's getting over an ankle which kept him from camping and working out this summer. </div><div>Last year versus Aberdeen, he held his own against Channing Ward. Some will say he dominated Ward, but that isn't the case. He was able to neutralize him when asked to block him though.</div><div>He didn't get many offers because everyone knew he was going to stay in state. And being an MSU lean will never gain you stars fromthepremium sites.</div>

He looked impressive. You can never have enough quality linemen. I had never seen Columbus's unis before - Atlanta Falcons meet LSU, looked sharp.

On the other hand, looks like the Bears have a huge 5* bust on theirs, if they can get him eligible. </p>

The fact that he is not yet practicing with the team means there is more to this story that they aren't telling publicly. Players are allowed like 14 or 15 practices with the team while waiting on the NCAA clearinghouse(remember Michael Carr). If it was what just a matter of waiting on the NCAA like they say(and as it seems), he should have been practicing with them...
