The second largest state population-wise and without question one of the three most talent-rich states, if not number one.They play in a difficult-enough conference to where going undefeated will just about guarantee a title shot, but it's not super difficult like the SEC is. And living in Austin > living in Tuscaloosa. Also, there's plenty of winning history, but without the burden of coaching in the shadow of the Bear.
Most of the above could be said about USC as well, but I don't think their fan base is as passionate as Texas or Bama.
