that Kiffen was quoted as saying he committed those secondary violations on purpose so he could bring attention to Tennessee's program. He said at USC, he doesn't have to do that. I think if there is one united front where the SEC stands - it's about Lane Kiffen.

that coaching on any level has ever seen. He has yet to open his mouth where his foot wasn't implanted!!

with the USC football program. While USC is certainly a Top 10 recognized college football program over the years its just amazing that when he speaks he acts like USC is Notre Dame, Alabama, Texas and Oklahoma all rolled into one and that Tennessee is essentially equivalent to Temple. Tennessee is a Top 20 type program themselves and have for many years past had the largest stadium in the country. Its just almost unbelievable how Kiffen continues to love to say things to try and belittle the Vol program.

he is just trying to excuse his own negligence.

When Pete Carroll took over USC they were about like TN was when Kiffen took over (maybe worse). I don't remember his having to act like a damn fool to get attention. TN is a big time program. He didn't have to do all that.

The NCAA should suspend him on purpose for committing violations on purpose. That would be good pub for USC, I guess.

he thinks that statement would get the NCAA to further their current investigations of UT... almost like he's trying to give them cause to stick around UT looking for more.

themselves before Pete Carroll showed up. But no doubt USC is up there in storied college football programs. I guess the real rub is just the way Kiffen talks about the Tennesse program like they are a total nobody compared to the great USC.

USC is not gonna do much this year and will get beatdown by Oregon and UCLA. Either they were horrible or Hawaii is pretty good. i was not impressed with their defense under Coach O. Kiffen gets a few years, but is gonna be tough with those sanctions to improve much.

The second largest state population-wise and without question one of the three most talent-rich states, if not number one. They play in a difficult-enough conference to where going undefeated will just about guarantee a title shot, but it's not super difficult like the SEC is. And living in Austin > living in Tuscaloosa. Also, there's plenty of winning history, but without the burden of coaching in the shadow of the Bear.

Most of the above could be said about USC as well, but I don't think their fan base is as passionate as Texas or Bama.

Edited to say: nevermind. I realize nowyou were talking about the football program, not how good of a job it is.

like the fake suicide of LenDale White and the multiple Will Farrell appearances among others.

Not that those were violations or really bad, but they were things that got attention.
