I was unaware the every NFL draftee took an affluent white family on stage just to give their bogus story some extra exposure. My apologies for missing that.

the only one who is aware that their story is BS.

Hell, there aren't any ole miss fans who actually believe that BS story. Now, they will deny that the story is BS but they know.

You know what's funny? That this story still drives you guys nuts even though he's no longer even on our team, and even though he only won more than 4 games one time in 4 seasons.

Honestly, I don't give a **** about anyone's motivation. The end result is that Oher has people in his life that care about him, and as a consequence, he's a millionaire today instead of being on a path to nowhere. Why anyone did what they did really doesn't matter, because the end result is his life is going to be a **** load better than the other option.

If someone- say John Correro- from State adopted a guy who just so happened to be a 6'8" 320 pound LT who just so happened to be a potential five star recruit, Ole Miss would have turned State in and tried for the death penalty. And probably would have gotten it to where the guy couldn't have gone to State.

Brace yourself! Here come the NAFOOMERS!

Because, you know, Oher was THE ONLY kid in Memphis down on his luck...too bad he wasn't 6'10" and 240...he would've been adopted by Calipari....

edit to add: I can call BS. I was adopted. From Memphis. By a blue collar family with hardly a pot to piss in. From a prominent Memphis family that considered me a scandal. Too bad I couldn't hit a damn curveball! At least I was intelligent enough to be able to chose the academic scholarship I wanted. I was fortunate enough to take one from a school I felt at home at (and I turned down a lot of "elite" academic institutions), not one thrust upon me by my adoptive family.

The Tuohy's did a great thing for a kid in need. And while its unfortunate, its understandable that a bunch of hacks are so caught up in a college football rivalry, that they can't really see that. And you're right. This story will drive some Mississippi State fans nuts. The one's who really are blinded by the rivalry.

Yep.... you missed everything about this wonderful story. I suggest you read the book or watch the Major Motion Picture that's coming out about it.
It's a story about love..... not race as you're struggling to make it out to be.

The Tuoys adopted Michael in the tenth grade ....a year before he ever played football.
They drove by a playground in December and saw him in shorts and no shoes .... it was snowing. Picked him up and took him home.

If you think that's a "bogus" story...... then God help you!

the book was more so about the evolution of the offensive tackle position and how it has become a money position.

Got your spring game tickets?

There is no telling how many kids at Briarcrest they have paid tuition for. That doesn't get mentioned.

And then there are hacks on the other side of the fence that think its a great thing simply because Ole Miss people did it. And there are some in the middle that simply see it for what it is.

Lewis insists Memphis Grizzly announcer Sean Tuohy wasn't thinking of these things when he saw Oher sitting on the bleachers in the gymnasium of Briarcrest Christian School. He just saw a kid who might need some help. Oher had been admitted to the school-which was mostly white, academically rigorous and well-to-do-on the basis of his size, and Tuohy, who had worked his way through Ole Miss on a basketball scholarship, knew what it meant to have one skill and one skill only.

Is that we have some of the most passionate MSU and Ole Miss fans in the state post on this board, and I can't imagine that any of them would let a 6'4"300 lb 16 year old black kid from the inner city of Memphis come live with their family for a couple of years with the hope that he turns out to be SEC caliber Offensive Lineman.

I mean would you really change your family structure that much for someone that may be an offensive lineman?

The fact that I keep bringing up something you did drives so crazy makes me laugh. It really does.

I would think lots of people wake up everyday working for Papa John's. The number of people who wake up everyday who wake up having told someone else that they would crush in their skull and rape their wife with the dead body in the bed is far smaller, I would think.</p>

the first amazing miracle is that Touhy took in a helpless 6 foot 10, 300 pound high school sophomore, a future first round pick. And thank God he found him at that time before he had any real need of a mentor father type figure. Bypassing all the other poverty and homeless in Memphis, Touhy found it in is heart to pick this poor young man. A true scout --- i mean saint. Mother Teresa said to find your own Calcutta, and Touhy found his in Memphis with 1 unfortunate soul. God bless America.

the second amazing miracle is that somehow, by total and complete chance, Oher ends up at Touhy's alma mater instead of a Div 1 school within walking distance of his home. Total coincidence. Brings a tear to my eye. How sweet.

the third miracle is the humble nature of this social worker, Touhy. Although he makes a living for talking non stop, he was pushed out of his comfort zone enough to write a book about his feats of holy good will with this young man. Although it is hard for him to discuss this beautiful private story, in his shyness, he makes the rounds of the skyboxes of Vaught Hemingway to recount the story and enjoy the benefits of bringing an All SEC lineman to the program.

with all these miracles, while this story may sound just too good to be true -- yes Al Michaels, I DO BELIEVE IN MIRACLES.

How beautiful - I need a hanky.

Because I wasn't drunk at all. The fact that you keep saying the same thing over and over doesn't make me mad at all it just makes you look a little more like land shart/fart worth each time. Like I said, the fact that you decided to be an ******* doesn't make sense but I really didn't like you anyway so it's fine.

Edit, i find this whole exchange with you mind numbingly boring so you can give it up now.
