Auburn announced today they will only be issuing tickets digitally for the upcoming football season. No paper tickets being mailed out in order to limit the amount of people putting hands on them.

Thoughts? I know this was becoming more popular in recent years, now it seems like it may be the new normal for schools. You either store your tickets on your phone or print them out on your personal printer.

I think we will all eventually go to digital tickets for a lot of reasons, but I gotta admit, I will miss it when we do. It's kind of a special day when that ticket book comes in the mail.

UM has done the same. Most pro sports teams have gone to this..... I personally like it but see several folks struggle due to lack of technology knowledge.

Same. I save ticket stubs from noteworthy games as well and keep them on a keepsake tack board. Have a lot of really cool ones from over the years. Won’t quite be the same.

I have stubs from the 80's. Love them.
Some venues are digital and give you a stub at the gate, but it still not the same.

What are they going to do with folks in Alabama's Black Belt where not all that many have internet access? In some areas, it's not available yet at any cost. Probably the same way in Mississippi in some areas.

We can't run the gates or concessions now. Can't get the beer flowing either. And y'all think we can go full digital? Shiiiiittt

Can’t come soon enough. I hate having to keep up with paper tickets. I like being able to store tickets in the wallet on my phone.

Mobile tickets may be the best thing to happen to flying. Not having to deal with going to the ticket counter is great.

Give me the option to purchase a traditional ticket.

I want to know I have a memento that isn't 8.5"x 11" and weighs 3 lbs, and a backup that doesn't strand my family outside the gates if someone's electronic device(s) fails (and doesn't mean standing in one line to then stand in another).

Considering the unbelievable shitshow the entrance to the Egg Bowl was, we need to be making things more simple not more complicated.

So the virus is so dangerous that we're going to remove a single person touching paper tickets to put them in an envelope, yet we're fine to then enter a packed stadium with 50,000 people?
