Does anybody else just get fired up watching the videos of Dillon Day? I don't know how good he will turn out to be at the next level or how good his high school competition was, but DAMN he is an animal. Just throwing guys around and mauling guys.

I would say West Monroe has one of the best high school football programs in the country. I don't think they have won as many State Championships as South Panola the last 7 or 8 years, but I know for a fact they play better competition than South Panola and would most probably beat SP. So I don't think you have to worry about the competition he faced in high school.

Yes I do. I have no idea how he is only a 2 star on both sites. The Scout guys who evaluate players just got lazy. He along with Muniz are solid 3 stars in my opinion. But what seems to be a trend is that alot of lower rated OLs tend to be the better ones. I think it's because they tend to have more work ethic and the higher rated guys think they have enough talent to not have to work hard. Day wants to be at State and I don't question his work ethic. He's been working his *** off in the class room to getintocollegeit's no question he will work his *** off in the weightroom to get on the field.

He was blowing people UP! The very first time I saw his videos I thought we had to have this guy.

I understand he may have a few grade challenges and weight challenges, but I think he is well worth the risk.

I think OL is one of the positions that is the most difficult to evaluate and project. Sure, you have the Sentel Hendersons (sp) of the world that are 5 stars and have 47 offers; but of the 5 guys that were first team AA this year, one was a 4 star, two were 3 stars and two werenon-rated 2 stars...
I might be eating crow later, but for the time being, OL development is the least of my concerns in light of Hevesy and Balis were able to do last year.
In years past, our OL had more holes than the Red Light District in Amsterdam or we looked like we needed about 12 artificial breathing machines on the sidelines by the end of the 3Q.

but technically he has a ways to go. His pass sets are slow and his punch is off balance. His knockout shots were when he set guys up. He won't be able to get away with that against SEC guys. He'll be a great red-shirt guy and hopefully be able to contribute in a couple years. My favorite thing about the video is that he looks like a pretty damn good athlete for a big guy. Definitely the kind of guy Hevesy can do something with.
