I doubt anyone has contacted him from UK, but it's funny the logic used to say somehow this isn't ethical... They're ALL pros now.
The whole idea of "college eligibility" is silly at this point, even if it is temporarily, legally enforceable.

It amazes me that ANY people who are over the age of 30, much less COACHES, don't realize that no matter WHO you are and what you have to offer, you STILL have to RECRUIT GREAT prospects better than anyone else.
If an OK game coach like Cal can win a title with a team that basically coached itself, it should tell everyone that recruiting has to be HIGH PRIORITY. IF YOU AREN'T a GREAT recruiter of GREAT talent, you have no business taking the job as a head coach at this level, especially at a school that expects to compete for championships.
I do not pretend to know all the facts, but signing with a pro team in the NBA was considered different. Hard something to do with in Europe, they do not have college ball. If there wasn't something to how they got paid, then Enes Kanter would have gotten to play for us but he was ruled out due to money he received.

Out of curiosity , I looked up why some can and can not play.
It has to do with the way they were paid; those who where paid for normal living fees and such and kept their amateur status intact, they only need a waiver from the NCAA.
Those who signed with a NBA team, even a 2 way contract are consider pros by the NCAA. This is where the kid from Alabama is challenging the NCAA in court over.
So, to answer your question, it has to do with how they were paid, how much they were paid, their amateur status and whether they signed a pro contract with the NBA
Our season can be "saved" with this kid. We aren't winning anything of value without a true PG

It makes tons of sense. Lowe and now Kam out for the season and who knows about JQ. We need all the help we can get.

He’s never actually played in the nba, he chose to play for the gleague ignite out of hs and kinda got screwed because it folded. Really his situation isn’t too much different than a player from overseas
