Matoaca comes into this game on a two game winning streak. They defeated Prince George 22-20 last week in a hard fought contest. The Warrior offense is led by quarterback Justin Ford. Ford, is a dual threat quarterback who has a strong arm. He has been a bit inconsistent this season, but is capable of putting up big numbers. The top two rushers are Jeremiah Carter and Cade Driskill. Carter has good speed and can create problems on the edge. Driskill is a very physical back and is the short yardage specialist. Wide Receiver, Trevon Stewart has great hands and is a primary target for Ford. Russell Cohen is their possession style receiver who can be counted on to get the first down. The offensive line is anchored by Aarron Walker (T) and Hunter Simmons (C). The Matoaca defense has struggled at times this season, but their linebackers are very sound. Last week Prince George had a 100 yard rusher and the Royal threw for over 250 yards.

Dinwiddie (4-0) is off to its best start since 2013 and look to continue their winning ways. Coach Mills appears to have his team focused and based on a tweet sent out to his player yesterday “Ignore the noise” he intends to keep it that way. Matoaca always plays Dinwiddie tough and defeated the Generals 32-20 last season. The Dinwiddie offense has been extremely balanced and is calmly being led by quarterback Bryce Witt (37/57 668 yards, 10 tds. And 0 ints.). Four different running backs (Sturdivant, Freeland, Tyree and Cooper) provide the firepower on the ground. Joseph Tyree has 9 rushing touchdowns on the season. With Pope and Freeland being double covered, J. Jones (10 catches for 181 yards and 2 td’s) and Freshman J. Williams (8 catches for 168 yards and 1 td) have been Witt’s primary targets this season. The Dinwiddie defense led by K’Vaughan Pope, D. Clayton, and Timothy Fields ihas limited its opponents to 12 points a game and held Hopewell’s four star running back Ronnie Walker to minus 1 yard last week.

On paper Dinwiddie should win this game, but playing disliked rival always makes things a little tougher. Matoaca must be able to attack the Dinwiddie defense both in the air and on the ground. Keeping the Dinwiddie offense off the field with long sustained drives will be a necessity if they desire to win this game. Dinwiddie’s keys to victory include: Special teams creating short field situations, pressuring the struggling Matoaca pass defense and limiting Matoaca’s big play ability.

The rain and damp fields could change this game tremendously. If this game turns into a ground and pound game it would clearly favor a very physical Dinwiddie team.

Looks like a poncho and Muck boots for this one.

Too funny ClarkeFan. Not going to start up today. He gets a free pass! He is a teacher and came back home to do so. Dont know who he is but he immediately garners my respect. DP and I will seek him out and brain wash Wahoogen.

No problem Wahoogen. Clarkefan was poking fun at DP and me about the country boy title. I just put a spin on it. We enjoy your enthusiasm. Would like to meet you and talk General football. If we play Friday night we will probably eat somewhere before the game. Likely Brothers or Giuseppe s. Come and join us. We had 9 at dinner last week

Hell Hammy, I follow Navy's directions while I'm driving. So I'm used to being lost. (I'm not sure how he finds his way home after work every day?)

Well, it's kind of like that. He never has to drive. He has a couple of drivers, and never has to even think about how to get somewhere. Just gets in the car, tells his driver where he wants to go, and away he goes.

From the directions he tries to give me, it's more a necessity that someone drives him.

"Turn here, turn here"! It doesn't look right, but who am I to second guess the great Bleeding, (aka, Marco Polo), Navy. Well, when we get to the dead end of an industrial park road between abandoned factories, I figure we are history. I could feel cold eyes boring into us.

I jacked the wheel around, did a "bat turn", and stomped it. Trying to get out of there before we were robbed and murdered, I had to bump over a curb. And all he had to say was, "you are a non-driving so-and-so! No, "gee, I guess I was wrong", or "sorry, thanks for saving us"!

You seem to enjoying yourself at my expense, so I will continue to lay on the veranda, getting my daily massage, drinking a mimosa (with an umbrella garnish) while my butler types this message to you commoners. Actually Hamspear I dont have a wife. I have wives. We still believe in harem's in Carson, VA.

Oh I forgot to mention. I cannot be blamed for DP's poor driving. He just uses me as an excuse. The man is blind as a bat (now you know why he made a bat turn). His glasses are so thick Leopold Optics (gun scopes) wanted to test them for a possible mount on sniper rifles.

Hold up Wahoogen I think that trademark (Country Boys) was used up Three years ago. And I'm not going to tell you who made that up because you wouldn't believe me.

I can say this you remind me of myself three years ago full of enthusiasm and would talk a little smack on the old Central Region board. But back then it was a lot of smack talking. It was kind of fun when you knew you had one of the baddest team around. That's when the Country Boy theme came about. They even made a song about it.

But thanks to DP and BN for brining the true value of being a Dinwiddian is all about and that is being respect to all no matter what. That's why I love to read there post and keep my mouth shut.

Here's the video for you Wahoogen.

The game is still on for tonight at 7:00, at Matoaca. Barring a drastic change of the weather such as a heavy downpour, the game will be played as scheduled.

Some of the Dinwiddie faithful are meeting for supper at Brother's Pizza, Edgehill at 5:00. All are invited.
