I don’t think many players ever read what us old folks talk about on here, but if they do, heed this advice.
Very late in our game, PG intercepted a pass and ran about 75 yards for a TD…, ALMOST! He got cute with the ball as he approached the goal line and the Dinwiddie player chasing him swatted the ball out of his hand, recovered the ball and ran back to the 40. I’m sure Coach Hall at PG was not happy at all. Even though the touch down would have been irrelevant, (score was 55-7), I’m sure he told his players something like, “the way you do one thing is the way you do everything!”
Secure the ball regardless, until the play is officially over. And showboating definitely proves something. It proves that you are a dumb ***.
