I said before the Purdue exhibition, UK would not play in single game all season with everyone available, and I stand by that statement. I might have to say now, they might not play a single game with at least 2 or more players unavailable šŸ˜‚šŸ¤£

Injuries since Pope became coach:

(I don't count JQ, because he had surgery before he arrived at UK):

Butler
Carr
Robinson
Kriisa
Lowe
Noah
Oweh
Mo-D
Potter

I guess it's just a lot of bad luck. But Pope is paid handsomely to figure it out regardless. The injuries are obviously not his fault, but the losing is if it keeps up. We have enough to beat UNC tomorrow, with or without Mo D and Lowe, especially at Rupp.
You forgot Carr, but who’s counting at this pointšŸ˜‚

Lowe I get and can see not playing, but Mo??? I mean we’ve had some terrible ankles over the years but guys have played so is this the staff or what’s going??? Getting kinda ridiculous, this is year 2 of ā€œinjuriesā€.

I’ve heard from other fans that our strength and conditioning coach isn’t very good. I can believe it.

If true, then he needs to be fired at the end of the year.

Our medical staff sucks if Mo D is still not able to go.
Either that, or there is something else going on and whatever it is, needs to end. This is starting to feel like it did at the end of Cal's tenure.

If it is not injury related, could be due to secret punishment of whatever happened before the UofL game. Maybe MoD was apart of it and threw hands. I don't know. Just speculating. In addition, could be he "quit" to protect his stock. But we need his toughness even he comes off the bench.

My worry is if MoD isn't playing by SEC play then that is concerning.

Have you seen our players? They aren’t ripped like under cal. These guys have good endurance but they aren’t shredded and strong the way they need to be should be from cranking iron in the offseason
LMAO, the nonsense on this board is amazing. Steph Curry, Luka Doncic, Joker, heck, Larry Bird...they were all just ripped and shredded weren't they lol? What the Hell does being ripped or shredded have to do with basketball?

So we are suspending him weeks later, for the UNC game, when we could have suspended him for the last 2 cupcakes?

This whole season is really turning into a joke real quick. Unfortunately at the end of the day Pope put this soft *** roster together. We are so far from what Ik Kentucky basketball should be. It’s gonna keep getting worse this year.

One more bad year of injuries and he has to be let go because he's bad luck.

We are One championship in 25 years. I don't think we got time for coaches to have bad luck with injuries..

Agree with this take. If injuries are to blame for a loss, then I would expect the gameplay to reflect that (i.e, our guys play hard, but ultimately get out-talented)

The last two losses have just been genuinely unwatchable basketball. I have my doubts that we would have won either fully healthy. That’s not injuries. That’s coaching and culture.

Why do you guys have such a hard time with the concept that injuries happen in sports. It is especially true when large powerful men play a contact sport. Why do your tiny brains need to blame someone for it!!!

Lame question, but can Dioubate and Lowe, if they do not play again this year, obtain redshirts ?? Just curious ...

I hope we beat the next two teams if not I'll have to listen to insufferable Bs for a while...
I think we all hope for this. You pumpers seem to think the people voicing concerns (you know, the ones with eyes and a functioning brain) are not UK fans. Some are trolls but most are knowledgable about bball and want the best for the team. UK needs to be the premeire program in the sport, competing with and beating good teams, and getting to the final 4. If those results happen, nobody cares what players got them there. The results have NOT been there SO FAR, so it is appropriate to question.

Alabama fans and former players had a fit after the FSU loss to open the season, calling for KDB head. That lit a fire under the team, and KDB has acted like he's been coaching for his job since. The ones bringing that fire are the true fans. The "que sera sera" jokers like your ilk are more suited for IU fandom.

We have a good December, bet that this board will be popping. We all want the same thing.

Did you forget all the injuries we had last few years of Cal

spell enough when you were just wanting literally every post from the beginning of season now you just turned into a defeat a *****. I don't doubt you're a fan. I want you to just shut up and sit back and see what happens with the season.

At some point we have, you have to question as to whether Pope and his staff’s methods are not to cause for the frequency of our injuries. Is he pushing them too hard in practice? Is strength and conditioning not doing their job correctly? Something has to be going on, it can’t just be bad luck.
What we need to question is mark popes truthfulness with the fan base. It seems to
Me like he downplays injuries and keep everything close to the chest when he should just be honest and tell us when injuries are more severe. But may be they just want an athlete to fully recover. Personally we can’t win the SEC with a fully healthy roster so what’s the point in waiting.

We had injuries a ton during the Cal era too. Noel getting hurt cost that team a ncaa bid (lucky to get past round of 32 IMO anyways but would have made it) and then wcs getting hurt n the ncaa was key not having him against Napier and friends. Then Poys acl derailing what would have been 40 and 0 for real IMO. And the guys last few years. UK has had bad luck with injuries for decades with DA during pitino, and way in back.

Cal caught flak for Sharpe (and rightly so), but on that same team, you had a guy like Kellan Grady who couldn't even walk properly still suit up, play hard, and do what he could for the team. THAT is a transfer who wants to play for Kentucky. Even Butler last year, NIL and all.

I would say it's more the culture now of "load management" rather than the medical staff. 10 years ago, it would be in these players' best interests to play no matter what. Now, it's the opposite where it's better for them not to play and be "exposed". Just the culture.
You make a very valid point, but when we look at the kind of player Mo is, I don't believe he has that mentality. That guy is supposed to be a dawg that is tougher than everyone else.

Also, load management is definitely a thing in the NBA, because they play so many games each week and the seasons last forever, but in college, I don't think anyone should be sitting for load mgt reasons, that's kinda silly.

Brand and Draft Status, even if it's in their dreams.
Correct, but Mo doesn’t have a draft status, dude can’t shoot and every coach he has ever had, failed him in that department. That is the way you shoot when you're 6 years old standing too far out.

Surely Mo knows he isn't getting drafted. If not, wow, I want what he's having.

Good point on your punishment theory. See, I would be good with that (not that it matters what I'm good with). It would show me that Pope has some balls.
I would definitely buy the punishment theory over a rolled ankle lingering on this long.

A sprained ankle, depending on severity can last months... sprained ankles can be worse than breaks sometimes. WTH are you people talking about?
I agree, but Mo walked off the court under his own power. If you roll your ankle bad enough to be out for multiple weeks, you ain't walking off without help.

Yes and the speculation I posted is logical. If you can't comprehend it, that is on you.
What is logical about suspending him several games later and during the UNC game when you could have suspended him for 2 cupcakes instead? Do you understand what logical means?
