I've got all the games from this season (that we won) saved on my HD-DVR which is now full. I'm looking for the best way to get them off and to DVD.
Right now, I've got an older Panasonic DVD recorder connected to the DVR that I can record straight to. However, it's connected via S-video and audio cables so I will lose the HD quality if I record. Further, to get the game to fit onto a 120 DVD R, I have to record it at the medium quality setting therefore further reducing the video quality.
What I would LIKE to do is to somehow copy the files from the DVR to my Mac, edit out the commercials with iMovie or something then save the files in HD format to a large external hard drive for safe keeping until I pony up for a BluRay recorder. Any tech savvy Dogs know if its possible to get the HD file from the DVR onto the Mac and if so, the best method to do that and retain the highest video quality?
