I've been watching the DirecTV guide all week and it's showed our game in HD on channel 729-1. Well, my receiver just auto tuned to that channel and its BLACKED OUT....then the receiver searches for another channel and finds that it's on Ch 729 but NOT in HD. So, we start watching the broadcast then the screen goes blank and message says that channel is now blacked out. WTF DIRECTV!!!!!

So now, my only choice is to watch it on Ch 4, WCBI which is NOT in HD. It's such BS that they block an HD feed and force you to watch a non-HD feed. I know that it's all about station rights and **** but man I HATE IT!!!!

CBS makes them blackout the game in areas where it is being broadcasted on a local station. Wish they would get local channel HD though.

It's their fault that they won't pick up the WCBI HD feed. The equipment is in place with WCBI, WTVA, WKDH and WLOV, all the locals in North Mississippi. DirecTV just won't come connect their equipment to handle the feed.

The whole deal pisses me off. I've been fighting with DirecTV and all the local channels for years now. I can't pick up WTVA, WKDH or WLOV over an antenna so I can't watch any show that NBC, ABC or FOX airs in HD. DirecTV offers other network channels that are broadcast in HD via DirecTV but to get those networks, my locals have to agree to a waiver. Well, they won't agree to a waiver and tell me to just put up a bigger antenna so I can receive their feed over the air. To do that, I have to rewire my whole house and each TV to connect to a new antenna, plus, only one of my TVs has a built in digital receiver so that means I have to buy a digital receiver for four TVs. That's a BIG investment in time and money when DirecTV is supposed to pick up the HD feed from my locals any day now which is what they've told me for two years now.

It's just BS to have to go through all that just for an HD feed.

I can't imagine Columbus is getting HD anytime soon for the locals. Jackson just now got it. They are going down the list in population order, and Columbus can't be that high on the list.
