Givens talked about that again. He said the rule states you cannot do what Fears does. Not only helps him but hurts us with fouls.
So I tell you, what a genius why don’t you hold onto something and have three guys at the same time try to rip it away from you and see how successful you are
Chandler getting blasted in the head on a drive with blood all over his face with no call. Oweh got fouled hard several times with no call. Carr got mugged at least twice inside with no call. Wague literally tackled Carr but no intentional called. Leach said if that wasn't intentional then they should not even have that rule. Of course they just called a common foul. Just a few things I recall. The refs think they have to keep it somewhat balanced is the problem with some. They could not guard us inside without fouling.
If that wasn't an F 1 they should just eliminate the penalty. Just allow punching, etc.
He seems to have it out for Pope. He followed him down the sideline the Bama game a couple of weeks ago staring at him like he was baiting him into calling a T on him.

Fears also got the benefit of phantom fouls on two, maybe three times in the second half. The Kentucky player did not touch him but still got the foul called.
I have no idea what a foul is or is not anymore, what walking is, what an illegal/legal screen is- see so many offensive players either push off or jump into their defenders and the defense gets called for a foul - Bama's Sears jerks his head back almost every time he gets the ball to draw fouls and it works a lot- just don't get it
Given refs are gambling and controlling outcomes anyway, the sport is soon to be as real as professional wresting. It shouldn't be surprising that the players have become actors.
I'm sure its already been me mentioned; but I noticed in that slow mo replay of Carr getting slapped at the end ( not the obvious excessive/ air borne f1 earlier in the game); the ref just fee feet away began to raise his hand to call the foul; or possibly jump ball. But his hand begins to rise, yet he fails to blow the whistle as Fears exits the scruffy ball in hand. JUST AMAZING

I agree with you totally. The illegal screens are out of control. The number of fouls being called on 3 point shots is out of control. The number of fouls called by flopping/flailing/falling is out of control. The number of fouls called on defenders when the offense is the one creating all the contact is out of control. The number of refs who consistently get these calls wrong over and over is out of control.
You can pick apart any game. for instance they could have got carr on a hold on the very last play of the game but they swallowed that one. I saw it in real time and gasped. It was right in the middle of the floor in front of everyone. That one scared me.
Blah, blah and blah. Yes you can pick apart any game, that was an incident, Fears fouled damned near every time he had the ball and UK got called for the foul.
The bs call on chandler as fears was fading away, 8min mark..chandler didn't even touch him...insane officials doing every thing they can to keep ok in it. Smh.
You are 100% correct that there was zero contact on that play, well if you don't count Fears kicking his leg out into Chandler which is an offensive foul by the rule book.
The flagrant that committed on Carr, at 58s. Ok guys excessive force throws carr to the fround....!!!, instead they only call it a shooting foul. It should have been uk 2 shots and the ball. Should have put the game away.
yeah, but that wasn't any more blatant as the screen set for the last Fears 3 pt shot... the OU big literally had his arms extended pushing Brea (I think) as he was trying to get around the screen.
So you’re talking about 2 no calls in the waning minutes of the game. That’s exactly the way the game should be called. Under 3 or 4 mins I want the whistles to stop blowing. Let the players decide the game. No offense To you or anyone else. But we gotta stop crying so much. When did we all get so soft? It’s the SEC. ***** physical
So you want refs to quit calling anything and let players beat the crap out of each other under 4 minutes? Rules are rules whether there is 30 seconds left or 30 seconds into the game. The rules don't change down the stretch. This has to be the dumbest comment I've heard on here today and that is saying something.
If you watched all the games ( and I did) there were bad calls in ALL the games. There is no conspiracy against KY. Our fans need to drop that narrative.
That's how Fears was open for that last three; Noah was held with both arms then shoved the opposite direction.
I tend to agree that as fans we notice the ones against our team more than the others but you are correct that refs are terrible across the board. They don't call anything by the rulebook anymore. I watched a post player backing down a defender yesterday and he would put his hand under the ball for 2 full seconds on every dribble. He could have been called for carrying the ball at least 5-6 times on that one play.
I hope I don’t ever cross paths with that M fkr. It ain’t gonna be pretty.
Radio guys said they wished we would have had the refs in the game before us because they let them play and didn't dominate the game. Who were they?

I'm not saying anyone should be "crying". The reality is it SHOULDN'T be that physical...that ISN'T basketball. It's rugby, and it makes games UGLY to watch.
The underlined part is an argument that I agree with. Where we disagree is "how" you let players decide the game.
I would argue the teams should still play by the rules to decide the game. However, by swallowing a whistle and NOT calling fouls, travels, etc at the end of the game as an official is supposed to do, they are specifically NOT letting players decide the game. Instead, you can allow a team that has worked and built a lead to lose the game b/c the opposing team starts playing outside the rules ("press/foul as much as possible b/c the officials won't call them all"), and thus that team claws back in when they don't deserve it.
Truth is, if the officials would call more fouls, carrying, etc early in the season and early in games, the college game wouldn't be so ridiculously physical.
In a sense, yes. I want at least 20% less **** called under 4 mins and if it's under a minute it better damn sure be an assault before one of the zebras insert themselves into the game and decide the outcome. No one bought a ticket to see them decide the game. With the new rule changes allowing for all these ******** reviews the refs have found themselves in front of the camera quite a bit and it has led to some inflated self promotion. I think they are loving their newfound fame and that's a problem.
also speaking for myself I just prefer a more physical game. I think too many fouls are called already and its across the board.
I'm not sure anyone knows what a foul is from one game to the next. I have really tried to look at officiating with non blue lens. I honestly think if a game is poorly called as most are, both teams and both team's fans are pissed. It seems the calls are bad on both ends of the floor. I truly do not think any ref in the SEC has an axe to grind with us or any other team. Watch the game with emotion but don't get emotional about the game. It is next to impossible to be objective when you get emotional. Getting emotional is what causes so many hate the cheating crooked dirty ref post.

It was easy to see how the officiating was going to go when Chandler got levelled on his first half drive and came away bloodied and battered and there was NO CALL whatsoever on such an egregious, blood-letting foul. Of course, they did not review it. They should have at least done that. given themselves a chance to rectify a mistake. Why not? They stop for every other reason.
There are those on this board that do not seem to grasp the very simple concept that the officiating is corrupt and uneven. Everything but consistent, and *somehow* usually goes against Kentucky when it clearly shouldn't. Even under review. maybe even ESPECIALLY under review.
The average calls that are ticky tack makes it absolutely impossible for our team to understand what it is they will or will not allow in defending.
Officiating in these games are absolutely game ruining. But boy, they sure did try to gift OU that game last night. It was as in our Big Blue Face as it ever was on full display for the world to see.
Can't wait to see how they treat Sears and Bama AGAIN today. Gee, I wonder what will happen?
