Disaster averted by canceling the baseball game. Look at all the rain that's..

I'm sitting here in Starkville with not a drop of rainfall to my knowledge wondering why we just didn't attempt to get the game in and possibly a win.

we're going to try to schedule them for a DH later on to make up for Nicholls State ditching us. It might have worked out better for both State and Valley to schedule it later to get both games in. I know that we have to travel to Monroe tommorrow, and doing that after a DH would be kind of rough.

Now, however, MSU is officially down one game, so there will be a need for a makeup later on

So technically, we could make the Nicholls St. game up and still add 3 more games to the schedule if we wanted to.

That was changed a couple of years ago

MSU is at 55 games right now, thanks to tonight's cancelation

May 5th is the target date for a makeup game to get back to 56

Meanwhile, in case you wondered, the 57 game schedule included the two with Middle Tennessee....that would have become one game had the Bulldogs stayed on schedule throughout the entire season

MTSU is in the 20s in RPI so that is a big two-game series

Don't look for the makeup to be with Valley either since their RPI is so bad

say, stay in Oxford an extra day and play a nonconference game against Ole Miss that Monday? Or any other SEC series for that matter. That's got to be better for the RPI than some random Valleyesque team. Would get a lot of fans out too.
