Signing Gonzalez and Crawford a big deal, although its only amodest upgrade maybe on losing Beltre and Martinez. That may energize the Yankees to offer even more to Lee and get him from the Rangers - Lee makes his decision this weekend it seems and until this signing, I thought the Rangers just might get him. Yankees may give him that 7th to get back in the news.

Crawford in Left, shift ellsbury to center, and bye bye Mike Cameron. The amount of speed followed by power in the sawks line up is going to be scary.

Well I am assuming a healthy Martinez, and that Beltre won't regress after he gets his new contract, but yeah, I think its an upgrade, but not all that large of one. Speed increase, power increase, average and defense drop..it will be interesting to see how Youkilis transitions to third..he does have the whole offseason to get ready, so it might not be that mich of a drop off.

I don't think Salty/Veritek is answer at catcher - I like Salty, and hope he does well, butI am afraid he has peaked. We will see.

I am glad Yankees didn't get CC - I was worried they'd just go ahead and pull the trigger on him and Lee. Now you wonder how much the urgency to sign Lee has increased. Word is they are ready to offer a seventh year. Rangers can't do seven. May not be able to do six.

Youk can more than handle third. He was a borderline gold glover before moving to first. Gonzalez is gold glove caliber. The speed will help in OF. Martinez was not hitting 3 hole bc of his defense. Don't be surprised at an upgrade at catcher before season starts. Need to get pen fixed and starters healthy and Sox can win the whole thing.

Beltre has had two good offensive years in his entire career. Both during contract years. Somebody is going to overpay for a bag of crap at 3b for the next 5 yrs. Youk is more than capable of manning the hot corner, he's played 3rd as much as he's played 1st in his career. Adrian *might* put up Pujols type numbers playing in Fenway after hitting in Petco for the last however many years and you can go ahead and pencil Crawford in for doubles off the monster at a record pace. Don't underestimate the benefit of these two guys going from playing 80 games in extreme pitcher parks to playing in a hitter friendly park.

he's gone.

Grienke will be their fall back plan. Although I am hearing Garza now, which would be a major disappointment.

We don't get Lee or Grienke, its a fail. On the positive side, Angels did not get CC. Still, unless we get Lee or greinke, Angels will have the number one staff in the west next year.

sheesh. He's declined, but that would still be a nice piece. Nice to see them smacking the Yankees around.

looking at Downs, too. They added 7th year to Lee deal already. That's two lefties to combat this. KC is asking for too much for Greinke. Speaking of KC, they picked up Melky & Francouer. Good luck with that.
