I love AD and he was a great player for us...The Colts havent stopped anybody this preseason and his last 41 carries entering into tonight were more against starting defenses, and he averaged less than 3 yards a carry. Some of you act like he is setting the NFL on fire this preseason. Now, he is playing against back-ups again tonight.

He is going to be behind Gore and Westbrook, and simply won't play alot this season. I'm not sure why that makes me a douche, but facts is facts.

therefore I would say that 99.9% of posters would be happy that a former dawg is having success in the NFL, except of course for you, the narcissistic douchebag who brags about having a "sideline pass" to a high school football game. Have a good time on Friday Night on the sidelines, maybe next week you can get somebody at the school to get you "reservations" at the school cafeteria as well.

I gave him a compliment- he really should be the best 3rd string TB in the NFL- it's got to be him, Leon Washington or Willie Parker...And I'd take AD right now

I'm not the one that called you a douche.

No where did I say he was setting the world on fire either. I simply said he is going to be a good one. I am fully aware that his most successful games have been against backup players. I'm also fully aware that he is a rookie. Yes, there are rookies that come in & become immediate impact players. There are just as many that become solid, dependable players for many years after being in the league for a season or two. You act like he is doomed to be a 3rd stringer for his whole career based on <3 yds per carry. You are no different than what you are railing against, you are just on the other side of the argument.

At the end of the day, he is still light years ahead of your boy Charles right now.

I wouldn't bet on both Gore & Westbrook both lasting the whole season either. Gore has been known to have injury problems & Westbrook is a senior citizen in the world of running backs.

Not sure if it has been mentioned anywhere else, but Dixon finished as the NFL preseason's leading rusher.

My thoughts: 1) He is not a starter (given!) 2) He is expendable 3) He is getting work that will only make him better if he ever gets a chance to get on the field 4) He will have a decent body of work for the coaching staff to know what he can do

With Gore and Westbrook in front of him someone is going to be injured at some point. Also he gets better at pass blocking each game. Singletary said after the game last night that he is too talented for them not use him in games.

He and Westbrook are completelydifferentbacks. He will be the primary relief for Gore on most downs and short yardage situations and Westbrook will betheir3rd down and passing situation back.

Care to make a wager on how many carries he gets this year? Oh thats right you don't have the backbone to back up your mouth.

Mad Mike is going to run the football and play tough defense. They have 2 road graters they drafted in Round 1 along with Dixon. SF is going to pound the ball down the stretch. We'll see how big a role he has by then

Coach Mike Singletary guaranteed that he'd find a way to get rookie RB Anthony Dixon on the field during the regular season.

Dixon
ran for 300 yards on 74 preseason carries. "When you have a guy like
that, there's going to be a role," Singletary said. "What it is, right
now, it will define itself. But when you have a guy who has talent like
that, you'll find a role." There's won't be many carries left over
behind workhorse Frank Gore, but consider Dixon a must-own handcuff.

For someone who is 240 he runs similar to a skill position making those cuts. I really hope he does well this season he is looking good right now

I think that and his being coached on when and where to make those cuts are his biggest improvements so far.

As good as two four was here at State, it sure looks like he's still got a lot of upside. Shame he had such poor coaching his first 3 years at State. You saw what the Mullen Administration did to him in just one year and what the NFL has done to him in just one off-season.

That's why Xeaches is and always will be a douche. I feel for his son knowing he'll have such a complete asshat father on the sidelines.

the 46-yard run was against the first-team defense. Dixon, however, had mostly 2nd stringers around him:

San Francisco’s offense looked little like the unit it will be for the
team’s Sept. 12 opener at NFC West rival Seattle. No Alex
Smith
at quarterback,
no Frank Gore(notes)
or Brian Westbrook(notes)
at running back, no Michael Crabtree(notes)
at wideout
or Joe Staley(notes)
leading the line at left tackle.
