AD could possibly break Norwoods all-time rushing record this week..if not the next. He stands at 3030 yards and is only 183 yards from overtaking.

Numbers to chew on.. AD also now stands at 5th ALL-Purpose Yards in a MSU Career (3355). He overtook Mardye McDole (3353)this week. David Smith (3572) is 4th and 217 yards away.
At His current pace (107ypg)Dixon will continue to rise all the way up to 2nd and come close to the all-time leader in Walter Packer (4169 yards)
This could really get interesting if Dixon starts to catch any passes as he only has caught 1 for -1 yards this season.

While on the subject of Dixon and records, Switch to SEC Career Records. At his current pace (21.5 rushes per game) Dixon will rush the ball MORE times than ANY Other running back in SEC History besides Herschel Walker (994 in 3 years). He is on pace for 889 career rushes as of now. Again IF Dixon continues on his 107ypg pace he will end up at 11th on the SEC All-Time rushing list with 3,779 rushing yards. (10th is Carnell Williams at 3,831)

I hate he made those mistakes this weekend, because he was dominating Tech. He is all downhill this year - don't know who deserves the credit - Koenning, Knox, Hevesy, Mullen...but he has been unstoppable. I really think he could start for just about any team in Division 1.

end up starting next year and the three years after?

And if Norwood had been used properly his freshman year (or redshirted) he'd be probably another 1k yards ahead of where he ended up.

257 rushing yards in the 2005 game which we wasted away only scoring 16 points.

275 all-purpose yards total (257 R, 9 KR, 9 Rec)

After seeing our secondary in action I would think we will be run heavy Saturday. Our best defense will be to keep their O off the field. Dixon will get plenty of touches and if their stats against the run are any indication may really pile up some yardage.

More than anything, he's just a RB that got a lot of touches. He touched the ball a lot in his career because not many other people on some very bad MSU teams were worth touching the ball. He's not a big play, exciting player.

How many 40+ yard plays does he have? Not many.

Is he known for making people miss? No. Is he known for his speed? No.

Is he known for delivering big hits? No. He can drag people a few yards, but that's it.

I like Dixon. He's a good RB. But he's not some superstar all-everything RB that his stats imply that he should be.

He doesn't do anything spectacular but it seems like he busts his *** to get a few yards more than he should on every play. That goes a long way towards keeping the chains moving.

he looks like a different back this year. Other than the 2 fumbles, he's really looking good.

Norwood set his single game record against Houston of 275 yrds. Would it not be great if Dixon did it to them as well?

I think we all take him for granted, especially with him coming in after Norwood. We have forgotten what it is like to really struggle because of talent in the backfield. We have stuggled because of talent on the line, but not in the backfield.

Before this past game, he hadn't fumbled since 2007. He has all those touches yet doesn't get dinged up. He does tiptoe sometimes but he also falls forward.

We do take him for granted.

Dixon has been the best thing we've had going on the football field for the last four years. He may not be the greatest back we've ever had, but he has been a steady and consistent producer. It's not his fault that he was the only option during much of his time here.

3 years and never had a decent passing attack to help open up some holes for him.

Is he better than Jerious? I think not, but we all know that Jerious has the type of game you only see once. So no, he isn't the best all-time at State, but if he isnt 2nd he is damn close. Dixon is the best in the SEC. Who is better? Charles Scott? Keiland Williams? Caleb King? You think Saban would bench Dixon? Ben Tate? Onterrio McCaleb? Anyone at Ole Miss? I would take Dixon over the lot.

I also agree that beyond the OL and some semblance of a passing game, Dixon has individually improved through a combination of coaching and conditioning. He is hitting holes with purpose this year.

I would love for my Chargers to get him, but I think they need to spend all their draft picks on Defense.

I think He is pretty damn good , but at the same time I still think He leaves yards on the field sometimes.
