Tony Samuel joins UNLV staff. Per LJS, he coached the Dline last season at Georgia State, which allowed 181 rushing yards per game, an improvement of 122 yards over 2014. UNLV looks like the Western office of NU with Barney, Garrison, Cody Green and Ben Cotton taking up residence in the land of slot machines.
Not a post hoc ***** as to why Samuel didn't get the job here, but more to note that there are plenty of guys out there who can coach Dline. I am sure we will get someone of quality.

Indeed, a man who has spent his entire career on a coast, it was his life dream to be in Lincoln! ;)
Dude is a Cajun who is coaching at LSU. Doubt he leaves for a lateral move. I assume most (but not all) people are joking when bringing up his name.

YES PLEASE!!!!

A mixture of Deuce Bigalow, Tommy Chong, and Coach Harris from Revenge of the Nerds. I don't care who you are, that's entertainment!

All signs are seem to be pointing towards Parrella. No idea if that's accurate, a screen or what, just sharing what the hot talk has been in the last 36 hours.

I'd be cool with that. He'd have instant credibility with recruits, and his passion I don't think would be questioned.

While I like John as well, he doesn't seem to meet MR's criteria that he laid out. I don't know how he fits in the Great Recruiter category just yet. The other selling points may obviously offset that.

If it's Parella I'm not worried about his coaching/passion/leaving for another job, just hope he can get established on the recruiting trail.

My question is. So he was born in Topeka, but graduated high school from GICC. When did he move to Nebraska as a kid? Does anyone know?
