Yes, they should crack down on the CPS and not allow them into the state tournament.

Wait, what?

Maybe Coach Boehm should stop scheduling these "joke" cps teams in an effort to get cheap power points and dont bother recruiting cps elementary football programs.

Or maybe CPS schools should at least pretend like they give a **** about the written rules. He's right, I'm surprised he posted it, but he's absolutely right.

DLS is playing Nazareth non con this year. From my understanding they are one of the only schools to even call Naz back and the only to call back with a resounding YES. Good for them, interesting time to criticize their scheduling.

Let me clarify. Yes their non conference schedule conveniently excluded cps schools this year. But look at the past few seasons. CPS has teams that are wrong and I have beat my head against the wall with them for years to stop, but this isn't something that just started and trust me when I say CCL teams have known what they do for years. The lure of a Chicago conference team accumulating 6+ power points is incredibly attractive. Mt. Carmel vs Taft is a prime example.

I should soften my stance, it come off as harsh, SOME CPS schools should at least pretend to abide by rules.

I hear ya, some definitely use them to pad their record, it's the nature of the beast though. Some of those schools get in while much better 5-4 teams sit at home. It's a give and take and obviously not a perfect system but Boehm is a newer coach and gets a thumbs up from me for playing in CCL and scheduling Nazareth.

No worries mate. I understand completely. Trust me when I say CPS can be a bit of a mess at times.

Without know what schools we're talking about; if it wasnt a playoff eligible school what reason would they have to follow that particular guideline? Perhaps if all CPL schools were playoff eligible the IHSA could do more?

You're just stirring the pot and you know it.

Closest CPS schools to DLS. Phillips, Dunbar and Urban Prep Bronzille.

You also have Chicago Military Academy Bronzeville on 35th and an alternative HS on 30th.

6 High schools within 1 mile of each other. But that's another story.

Not at all. The only thing the IHSA does is put on the post season tournament. Their only way to punish a school is to exclude them from the post season. If my school is not eligible for the post season what reason would I have to follow IHSA rules? Kind of like Lake Forest Academy. They accept students from different countries let alone a 30 mile radius. They simply dont compete in the playoffs. I see no problem with it.

Does it have to be the schools near DLS? And thats over by G-Rate, right?

Pretty sure he's referring to Marine Leadership Academy on Armitage - because that's what I saw on Wednesday.

Also, shouldn't Marines be located near a body of water? I mean, it's right there in the name.

You know damn well, Boehm is talking about the bigger schools. DLS went 5-4 last year with TF North and Robeson on schedule and didn't have enough playoff points. Boehm dumps TF North and Robeson and picks up Nazareth and 10-1 Benton Harbor, MI. As far as twitter, you had an advertised CPS intra squad game going on Friday, and it wasn't helmets and shoulder pads. Give the guy credit, he's calling people out for telling kids it's ok not to obey the rules

Rest of the state is closing schools to save money, CPS is draining the state yet they seem to be opening more with declining enrollment

I kind of agree with you, however these aren't CPS schools. They are charters that are multiplying like cockroaches and siphoning a ton of tax dollars unnecessarily. Quite a few charters are actually sharing the same buildings as failing schools doubling administrative costs.
