Do any of you folks own a Kia Forte?

I suggest checking Carcomplaints.com. Search by vehicle make, model and year for the dirt on them. Customer complaints, TSB’s, recalls, etc. I find it helpful.

Might wanna avoid the 2017 Forte vs similar years.

I don’t own a Kia but car shopped recently for my wife and got the idea they were making better vehicles.

Kias are garbage. But its for a kid and she's going to tear it up so have at it.

Maybe in the past but I don't think they are worse than the average vehicle from any other manufacturer. I've had a 2011 Kia Sportage since 2015 and haven't had a single issue with it. Only thing I've done is put on new tires and brakes and put a battery in it (besides the routine stuff like oil changes). It has been a great car.

A really good dad would not cheap out on a Kia...every daughter in the USA deserves an Audi as her first car...safety first ....nothing screams awesome dad when a 16 yr old is sportin a Audi

“Sucky dad”- not sure what that would make me but I didn’t buy either of my kids their first car. I loaned them the money and they paid me back. And yes, I did get paid back.

I did buy both of my boys their first car with the condition they keep a job to pay for insurance and gas. The threat was if they didn't I would have sold the cars...I never had to sell either..No audi's one was a mecury capri 84 the other a ford escort 89...they both was happy with that

Well, a Kia Forte is good transportation but I've never heard of a Utah 5 year old stealing their mom's car to go buy one.

That's my new benchmark for cool cars.

The saga is over. We finally negotiated a price on the Corolla that we had looked at earlier and bought it. The Kia and Hyundai's seem like good cars but the Corolla's typically last forever. So as long as she takes care of it she should get through college with it and then buy whatever she wants.
