Do MSU and Ole Miss have the same academic standards?

Correct me if I am wrong but don't all of the public universities in Mississippi have the same entrance standards?

I ask this because there was an editorial in the Daily Journal yesterday touting how much Khayat has raised the academic standards at Ole Miss.

As far as the schools' reputations, both are Tier 3 National Universities, according to the US News rankings.

within the university without touching the entrance requirements such as min GPA to remain in a certain major, etc.

What's required of you once you get in school can be different though I'm pretty sure, as evidenced by the fact that some majors are easier at MSU than Ole Miss and some are easier at Ole Miss than MSU.

Khayat really did a very good job with the school as a whole. We're never going to be Michigan-caliber as a public university, but he advanced things on the academic side very well during his tenure.

it's not called the harvard of the south for nothing. everyone i know that went to UM entered average and exited a genius. at least in their mind.
