We played Missouri home and home, Miami home and home, Clemson home and home. Hell we even played Xavier home and home relatively recently.

Am i missing something? Are we supposed to be like louisiana tech in football and play the big boys only on the road?? Oh yeah, even that is not a valid argument as Louisiana tech has played Miami in football at home (Shreveport close enough) and us at their place as well...

Sorry what you morons think, I firmly believe we have a better tradition in basketball than LA tech does in football. If they can get BCS conferences at home then we should only play other BCS conference schools if they are willing to accept a home and home.

In fact lets think about something for a moment.

Texas
Oklahoma
Oklahoma St.
Baylor
aTm
Texas Tech

Kansas
Kansas State
Missouri
Nebraska
Iowa State
Colorado

Out of the 12 teams in the Big 12 Missouri is easily easily the fourth best team in that conference in terms of tradition... Is that not good enough? If the other three want to do a home and home great lets go for it. I bet if Greg Byrne cant get it done then C34 or fishwater wont be able to either...

Do you remember our NCAA Tourney seeding the last two years?

Do you remember we won the West in 2008, finishing 2nd in the SEC, and were an 8 seed? You remember that?

Good point. If I am not mistaken though those teams had down years when we played them. I may be wrong but I remember miami having two mediocre years and clemson dropping off sharply in the second half of the season on both occasions (again, I could be wrong). If thats the case then thats not scheduling but just coincidence.
I think our best bet is to try to meet some bigs in a tournament somewhere somehow.

Imagine if instead of Southern Illinois, Clemson, and Miami (OH), three teams with 100+ RPI, we had played 3 cream puffs under 100 RPI and won those three games, and had gone into the NCAA tourney 25-7 instead of 22-10. I bet our seeding would have been higher.

Withdraw this reply. My memory does not serve me as well as I thought. A little research proved me wrong except the 12-20 miami team in 06-07

What did you not understand about his quote of playing home and homes?? Do you think you are more savvy than Greg Byrne and can talk the bigs of basketball into coming into as hostile of an environment as they are gonna see anywhere else but no one else outside of the SEC knows about it? Honestly you keep bringing up a dead issue that ain't gonna change.

but I do I know that a win over a team with a 250 RPI doesnt help you one bit. So does Greg Byrne. Remember his quote "its not about getting 20 wins, its who you play, when, and where you play them?"

So he is trying to upgrade the schedule, like he and I want.
He is having trouble upgrading the schedule, like he and I want.
Something has to change- he changes his position in order to upgrade the schedule, or we dont upgrade.

We'll see what happens with next season's schedule (2011 season)

You may think you are, but you aren't. Quit pretending you are. It's embarrassing.

He's a smarter Dawg than you. Get over yourself.

until it comes to playing a school from time to time with no return...thats the only difference. It only takes adding a couple of games to your schedule and replacing the 250 RPI teams we play every year to give us the boost necessary to help us in the Tourney. It would be nice to win the West and be assured of making the Tourney with a solid seed, instead of winning it and being left out of getting in as an 8 seed
