We have, what, 11 games left. Probably need to approach the 38-40 win area to think about hosting. Taking 2 of 3 from UF and UK would get people's attention though (assuming we sweep Bama).

If we end up 18-12 with series wins over Florida and Kentucky, it would be hard to keep us out,the problem is that current SEC RPIs sit at:<div>
</div><div><div>1 Florida</div><div>5 LSU</div><div>6 South Carolina</div><div>9 Arkansas</div><div>11 Kentucky</div></div><div>
</div><div>The committee really doesn't want to give the SEC more than 4 regionals. If there were 5 in the top 11, surely they'd let the SEC have 5, but it would help our case if one or more of those 5 fell below us.</div>

At least, the official NCAA rpi and warren Nolan rpi(boyd still says it's impossible).

That said, we're overemphasizing rpi right now. Highly doubtful the NCAA allows the SEC to get 5 of the 16 host bids. They've been spreading of the geography of the regionals recently, fairly or not. But it's a good chance the SEC gets 4 host bids. We've got to hope Kentucky continues to falter and that we can overtake them and Arky in the standings, while getting top 16 rpi. If this happens, we host.

Chances? 10% or less...

They've lost 4 straight, all in the SEC, and have lost 5 of their last 6. There's a good chance they lose today to UF as well which would drop them into 4th place in the SEC. They better come back and have a strong series against Bama next weekend because if they slip up and lose that series, there's a good chance they could come in to Starkville and lose the series to us which would put them at 4 series losses in a row to end the season.

If we were to sweep Bama this weekend and UK were to lose today, we would only be one game behind them in the standings. This weekend has the possibility to put us in great position going into the last 2 weeks of the season. Yesterday everything happened that we needed to. We won, LSU beat OM, SC beat Arky, UF beat UK, UGA beat Auburn. It would be really nice if all of those outcomes happened again today.

to do it. And even then, that might not be enough. We would then probably have to make a deep run in the SEC Tournament.

Bottom line- if we are top five in the SEC there is a chance we will host.

Top three in the SEC- we will host. (I know- not happening)

we sweep Bama, Florida sweeps Kentucky
Win the series (2 of 3) at Florida
Sweep Kentucky at home if they win series vs. Bama, or if Bama wins series, win two of three.

We take Kentucky's spot.

Not impossible, but Kentucky basically needs to implode at this point, and we need to continue our run.

And as someone else mentioned, Kentucky may be playing their way out of hosting. If we could get to 18-12 in the SEC I almost don't know how they could not let us host (and drop Kentucky). That said, I can't see us finishing with a winning SEC record.
