Do we have to pull for OM this weekend at Ark?

I'm sure as hell not. I always want them to lose, but why would we want the possibility to exist that they can beat us to win the west? That's ignorant. I want us in Atlanta. Go Arkansas, and go Auburn next week.

After having every single OM coworker stop by my office today to rub in our loss I hope Arkansas wins 182-0

Absolutely not. Only if you believe that MSU, Oregon, FSU, Bama, TCU, Baylor, and Ohio State are locks to win out. Top teams are still gonna lose. And if OM is playing us for a possible shot at Atlanta... we're more likely to be one of those teams.

Auburn, Ole Miss, Texas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Florida, Michigan, Oregon State and the ACC South, SEC East, and Pac 12 South Champs aren't all just gonna roll over. 3 or 4 of them will have a say in this.

Saying you don't want OM to win, because you're scared they will beat us and back in to a West crown is weak.

It is clearly in our best interest for OM to beat Arkansas. We absolutely need another Top 10 win to solidify a Top 4 spot without a conference championship.

Arkansas winning does nothing for us. They do not impact our schedule quality by barely breaking .500. The committee wants to see marquee wins.

The Egg Bowl needs to be a big Top 10 matchup. Period.

"Back in to a west crown"—? You mean by beating the two top ten teams that we would be tied with head to head?

What is the tiebreaker if there is a three way tie?

Unfortunately, I know its the iron bowl and throw out the records and all of that, but its hard to see Auburn beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa this year.

OM wins with head to head against state and bama

If the computers were still ranking us, then Yes

We would probably need another top 10 win to insure a spot.

But there should be no way any one loss team should be ranked ahead of us if our only loss is a one possession loss to the number 1 ranked team on the road.

I'll still be rooting for the another Auburn Iron bowl miracle...but even their fans have given up on that game.

Thats reality as I see it as well. We current have one top 25 win, and that team still has to play @Bama. We need another high profile win.

The battle for the west is over. If you think Auburn will beat Bama you are insane.

Arkansas will beat Ole Miss. Egg bowl will be our play in game to the championship series. Two SEC teams make it, us and Bama. They'll take both one loss SEC teams.

What makes you so sure they will take both one-loss SEC teams? If they have one-loss Big-12 champs (TCU), Big Ten champs (OSU), and PAC-12 champs (Oregon), I could very well see us get squeezed out. Not sure if an Ole Miss win over Arkansas changes that, but I'll take every bit of help we can get. And I think a win over a top ten Ole Miss (as opposed to a top 25 Ole Miss) will help at least a little.

Head-to-head records of the three tied teams, in which UM would be 2-0.

It will be hard to win at UM regardless of their outcome against Arkansas. But I would rather beat a 9 win UM team that was ranked #8 coming into the egg bowl than beat an 8 win UM that was ranked #15 or maybe worse.

Now granted... TCU, Baylor, Florida St, and Ohio St really don't have much to brag about. I think it certainly helps that LSU, Auburn, and Bama all beat respectable out of conference teams. It would probably help give the SEC an additional boost if Kentucky beats Louisville, Georgia beats GT, and South Carolina beats Clemson. Florida beating FL St would probably guarantee us a spot at 11-1.

Well, every team I pulled for this weekend lost. So yeah.

I guess the Beavers were the lone exception, but I didn't stay up to watch it.

MSU would need Bama to lose too, so if that is our definition of "backing in"... My point was that whoever wins the west this year will have earned it.

The way the season has played out with teams beating one team than losing to another that lost to the team they just beat. It would not surprise me one bit. Plus that Auburn/Bama game is one of those that you never know but if I had to bet on the game I would put my money on Bama.

We need to win out. I do know that.

As for OM, if I must cheer for them to make it happen, I do not care if we go to the NC or not.

Go Hogs! Get that second win! Excel! Excel! Lay a 59-0 whipping on UM!

I think our game with the Bears are going to resemble the game when we had relf. Our defense is way better than aburns and our offense is better as well. I think we win easily. But I want them to lose every damn game they play by a ton. I would rather pull for auburn to win vs bama.

Obviously no.
If you are competing in a division race, whether it be baseball, football, etc. You want the teams that are tied with you or would be tied with you (if we lose to UM) to lose. The less teams that conflict with our ability to win the west, the better. Let Arky beat UM, then hope Auburn beats bama.

If we beat UM whether they are ranked #8 or #12, we will be in the playoffs

If we get left out of the playoffs after beating OMU to put them at 8-4, a trip to the Orange bowl coupled with their tears will make everything alright.
