Do we hold Mitchell now?

Hell Yeah we do.

We still got Lindgren in the pen. I'd throw Brown and hold Mitchell and Laster for Sunday. You can't draw up a better picture than Mitchell pitching for the clinching game. Hopefully score some runs and hold Holder for Sunday as well. Couldn't have set up better for us.

Yeah I'm probably going brown or sexton or Tatum. No way I go Ross.

On one hand, he could throw all 9 innings tomorrow and you've got a full staff to win one more game. On the other hand - we'd be throwing our ace against one of the worst teams in the tournament.

I say pitch Laster. Brown and Woodruff have been getting shelled lately and there is no sense in completely taking J-State for granted. Did they not beat us during the regular season a couple years back?

Absolutely NOT

I messed my title up and answered the wrong question. You definitely hold Mitchell is what i'm trying to say.

Throw Laster or Brown or whoever the staff feels is the best option who's a strike thrower. We've got the opportunity of a lifetime. The reward, you get Ross Mitchell against somebody's #4 pitcher. The risk, you lose to Jackson State, throw Ross against Lafayette or SDSU's #3, and then have to beat Jackson State twice, their #3 and #4 pitchers. No question in my mind the risk/reward points to saving Ross for Sunday.

Mitchell is not our best pitcher. Lindgren is. I totally understand burning Mitchell tomorrow if you want to save Lingo for Sunday.

But you could also give Laster or Brown a shot. If they're good, awesome. If not, use Lingo or Holder.

Whatever happens, we should have at least two of our four best pitchers (Lingo, Mitchell, Holder, Laster) available on Sunday

Brown has gotten shelled, but Woody has been quite solid for us out of the pen. What game are you referring to where he got shelled?

I wouldn't have a problem with laster going. You certainly don't want to go this weekend without laster pitching.

I know some are saying don't overlook JSU but if they beat us it won't be because of pitching. They didn't exactly knock the cover off the ball tonight.

If ULL has trouble with junk pitchers then Mitchell will be a better option than Lindgren against ULL.

"Shelled" may be too strong a word for Woodruff on my part but he has been far from solid with a 1-3 record and an ERA around 6. It seems like Woodruff is forever getting into jams early because he can't throw strikes and someone comes in and bails him out otherwise that ERA would be even higher.

From twitters:
Lost in all this is that JSU's ace Desmond Russell (9-4, 3.50 ERA, 8 CG) goes tomorrow, I believe. He's also the heart & soul of their club.

Hold Mitchell. JSU has seen a lot of 78 mph fast balls. Throw some heat and save Mitchell. #ULLcanthitthejunk

im not sure he has been 100% though...that first game back he pitched after the long break, he pitched great from what i remember, but im not sure he was totally "fixed"...he has had his struggles at times as of late.
