I may have missed a post about it, but I think he only had his Arky State job because the bline side and I think he'll bust. But what is the opinion of someone who actually knows what they are talking about?

...don't see this fan base waiting around for Freeze to slowly rebuild this team from the dumpster fire it currently is now.
OM fans are upset because they were lead to believe that they were going to get a homerun type hire. Someone who they could pay 4 million a year to that would bring instant recognition and discipline. That didn't happen but they got the coach that makes sense for a program of their stature. As a State fan, I think they did about as good as they could do and that he will be able to rebuild the program slowly and correctly.
Plus they save a shitload of money as a bonus!

Hugh Freeze was there safety hire after the top five on the wish\splash list said no thanks....
UM admin is still a huge question mark and the FB team is a gigantic mess.....Freeze is as good as they could do.

I'm worried about our coaches and what we are going to do to continue to get better. I'm focused on MSU.
I'm less scared of him than I would be of Leach, Malzahn, Hudspeth, and a lot of the other names thrown around.
I don't think it's a bad hire for UM, but if I were them, I'd be a little worried about his lack of college head coaching experience (I think this is his first year as a head coach since coaching highschool?) Judging from what he did in one year there, it seems like he's got potential, I would just feel better if I were them if he had sustained that success for two more years. Same concern I would have had if we had to go to Hudspeth right now, although the success he had in Division II would ease those concerns a lot.
