Do we need a permanent intro music?

Saw this thread on ED and thought it was important enough to get a consensus. i prefer avoiding the tired old music that doesnt get anyone hyped, so i tend to lean towards the modern stuff. our luck, we will probably end up with some kenny chesney song. as much as i have listened to acdc, it isnt getting anyone excited. keep in mind, it needs to sync up with images of the football team in slow-mo, have tempo, no explicit lyrics, etc...The main thing, it needs to be high-energy.

here are a few worth considering:

When in doubt at a sporting event, just play some AC/DC. Not complicated.

I listened to that whole song. It's nice but you might as well have typed, I'm very white and not young. I literally LOL'd thinking of our players trying to get hyped to that.

I know for a fact that Mullen wants a song for us to come out to that is unique to MSU. He wants our media department to come up with something.

Perhaps a song pondering the identity of the individual(s) who allowed the canines to escape their enclosure?

What Arlo said plus some barking dog sound effects and blatant misogyny would be money.

maybe we could get the band to start playing Pablo Cruise's "I Go To Rio" again. 30 years of that little diddy just wasn't enough.

If you can't get up for knocking heads off to that then you have no soul. It says we gonna skull17 you medieval-style.

We have one of the least problematic and most disciplined teams in the SEC too so I can't see them coming out to your typical "Bitches and Hoes" rap either.

Bad to the Bone...George whatshisname still fits whether you like it or not. Opposing fans know it and they hate it which is good.

Since we're the "Psycho Defense" we could break this out after a big stop (and just go from the intro bars to the chorus. For obvious reasons)

but since you clearly stated "intro music" I'll nominate anything from Motorhead. Or maybe Mastodon if we're feeling something a bit more contemporary would be appropriate.

And if we're sticking with the "bell" theme, For Whom The Bell Tolls >>>>> Hell's Bells

The Motor City Mad Man striking up Stranglehold always gets me pumped, go to music when I'm gassed during a run or workout. Thunderstruck works too

I've I often wonder why we don't use Hell's Bells by ACDC. We are known for the cowBELL. It's our tradition and what teams fear the most about us. I would love to hear 60,000 cowbells ringing in unison to this song.

Plus, we already ring the large bell in the song intro at an hour and 30 minutes before the game. We could also use this large bell sound on key 3rd downs etc.

A permanent song would be a good idea. For those who have been to LSU, it is pretty cool when they play Calling Baton Rouge every game.

I second the vote for Van Halen Unchained and would add The Game by Motörhead to be played as the team is waiting for kickoff after the run out.

I say turn this over to Derek Cody and let him make each game intro unique until we find a consensus we can stick with over time. Hell's Bells makes a ton of sense for the majority of the fanbase, I agree. Don't want to limit options "out of the gate" with our new production/hype team though...

But that's what you have to remember. Any kind of pregame video or music is for pumping the fans, who by and large are older white men. Team doesn't need or care about that.

I can't believe the group, 2 Steps From Hell, basically just do movie music. It's basically two guys and a synthesizer. Then they select different orchestras to perform their pieces for movie scores.

Listen to all their music and you will remember hearing it from movies.

LOL. Considering Rick Astley turned out to have the gay this would not be a surprise for a Disney-owned company.
