Previous line of work: Hated them. Had to work every holiday and the holiday pay wasn’t worth what I was missing.

New line of work: Enjoy them immensely and i save some PTO to extend Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Guaranteed 4 day weekend, smoked turkey and leftovers, no presents, weather can be decent and great college and pro sports.

I used to like them as a kid. Now they suck.
Too many people that you have to placate.

The only good thing is the time off of work. Everything else sucks.

I absolutely HATE the holidays ! So much in fact, I almost pray for death !
The pressure of buying gifts and spending time with people you really can’t stand and all the a$$ kissing makes me sick !
The sooner January gets here the better!
I can honestly feel the noose tightening around my neck about November 1st and it doesn’t end until about January...........
I’m like the Grinch on steroids !!!

Spending money on gifts that nobody needs or wants because we feel like we have to. No thanks.
Outside of deep frying a Turkey, making a few special recipes and meals I dont do much celebrating.
Putting up lights is a pain in the ***. Wife always helps put them up but is never around when it comes time to take them down. Last time they stayed up til spring before I could get them down. Damn cat kept turning the tree over. Drag all that crap back into storage. Hell with all that
A big breakfast, deep fried Turkey, broccoli casserole, pecan pie and Christmas candy and I'm good.

Thanksgiving and Christmas allow my entire family a chance to spend time together. This rarely happens throughout the year, if ever. I am thankful we have that opportunity and feel for those who can't, or those who view the holiday season as a burden.

Have always liked the holidays...even back when I had to deal with the hassle of traveling all over the flat earf to celebrate them.

But for the last several years we have held court for both Thanksgiving & Christmas for all family members on both sides. Which I like much better. Pretty much set in stone at this point.

I’m shaking things up this year...I’m hosting the First Annual Kaizer Sosay Thanksgiving Feast or Famine Extravaganza.

It’s a Family Fight Club themed holiday special event where if you win you get to keep eating. Lose your first match and you go home hungry...and more than likely missing a few teeth.

Gotta go...Michael Buffer is holding on line 3.

Dread holiday traffic. People hitting the road who are either:

  • Aholes who overstay their welcome.
  • Going out of guilt because some ahole guilted them.
Holiday traffic has a serious ahole factor.

I love Halloween. But I've never really liked Thanksgiving. Yes I know how odd that is. I like Christmas and love New Year's.

Growing up we always held all major holidays at my house. About 15 to 20 people everywhere. There was/is random people every time. My mother always had to do all the food by herself and we always paid for everything.

I have had terrible anxiety since I was discharged and being around that many people, family or not, I lose my ****. The VA prescribes me alprazolam and it helps sometimes. But with my mother on her death bed I'm not sure what's gonna happen.
