Where it's very hot/humid, people are spending a lot of time together the great air conditioned indoors, passing the virus. The virus is much more transmissible now, and vaccination doesn't prevent you from catching and passing the virus.
Iceland, where they've vaccinated basically everyone they could, is seeing more cases than ever, more cases even than before the vaccine. There's nothing we can do but wait for this thing to burn itself out.

Florida had a lower case spike in summer 2020 but more weekly deaths. Which in the end is what the vaccines, treatments, social distancing, etc was trying to limit.
