To be honest, watching coaches get fired and hired, and people hyping change is probably more exciting than the product on the field for most fans. Kiffin had a legitimate chance to win a national title with Ole Miss, and he is the top story because he left the team and joined a loser. Nobody really cares about the winning or possible championship, just the drama. This poisons the sport as it isn't really about competition anymore, just waiting for people to fail to fire or attack them. Lets say there are 10 million college football fans...how many of them are happy with their team?

Have to imagine Kiffin knows something about the NIL disparity that we don't.

Either way, I think Ole Miss's defense was going to get exposed big time in the playoffs.

Ole Miss has a ton of talent... Kiffin should have told Ole Miss he is coming back. Coached the team in the playoffs, won as many as he could, and then taken his team with him to LSU. Ole Miss losing Kiffin, losing their chance at a deep playoff run, and Kiffin having to poach the coaching staff before the playoffs is just unsatisfactory.

If I'm understanding the story correctly, Kiffin was on board to coach through the playoffs but Ole Miss gave him the ultimatum of having to decide this past weekend, then told him to take his toys and go home.

I in no way feel bad for Ole Miss, and this narrative that he left them high and dry when he has stayed there 3 years longer than he probably should've is immature.

OU fans acted the same way when Riley left for USC. When a better paying job with more resources comes calling, you accept it.
