Looking forward, finishing 2-2 from here with a loss to Kentucky implies that we will lose another against Alabama, South Carolina, or Arkansas at home. The best possible scenario would be a loss to Alabama while winning the last 2... giving us 2 overall losses to below-100 RPI teams. The worst-case scenario would be losing to Arkansas at home or South Carolina on the road (I can't decide which would be worse... a 3 game home losing streak or a loss to a very bad South Carolina team)... in either case, bringing our RPI down. The only way we can save our season is to win at least 3 of our last games, including South Carolina. Anything less, we will need a quality win in the Tournament.

The committee will not allow us in with a 4+ game losing streak to practically end the season, even though we have some quality wins. Go 2-2 the rest of the way, winning our last 2 games, go 1-1 in the SECT (with our win being against any of the bottom 5 or 6 teams in the conference), we will be a 1 or 2 seed in the NIT. Lose tonight, win our last 3, we will be in as an 8-10 seed.

unless we advance significantly in the SEC tournament. If we went 8-8 playing KY, Vandy and FL twice each that's a lot more impressive than playing all the West teams twice and the power teams from the East only once.

we seem to be a lock for the CBI, but with a strong finish we might be able to lock down an NIT berth.

It's already hard to find any quality wins on our schedule (aside from Vandy), and we have about 6 bad losses. We won't do well in the SECT because our bench isn't deep enough.

8-8 with 1 win in N.O., possibly "last 4 in" if no upsets occur in other conference tourneys. Damn this **** year in-year out is getting old fast.
