Does anybody really think Masoli walks on at Ole Miss

I had a couple of Loyalty Foundation rebs try to convince me today that Masoli would pay his own way to Ole Miss and if not, he might get an academic scholarship to go to Grad school. I was actually amused that they could be so naive. Here is a kid who has reportedly been offered full rides to West Va. and UNLV and yet he wants to pay his own way to Oxford. I sometimes am amazed at how crooked Slive and the SEC is in search of making a dollar and how the NCAA could not look at this with a jaundiced eye. What do you think?

?

Is that like Bulldog Club Bulldogs? You can give $50 bucks and be in either club, not sure how that sets you apart from the sweaty masses. You get a window sticker. Nice.

Common sense does not apply. I really don't care where he plays. Ole Miss is fine with me. Hell he won't havea o-line or any other offensive player who is worth a **** around him. He better be able to like the wind. The down side for him is SEC defenses. He might be all Pac-10 but he will be a middle of the road QB in the SEC. Another point behind him going to Ole Miss, is the fact that Nutt not only can't make good decisions during the game but he can't make good ones at any time. Way to go Ole Miss! Keeping Miss Beautiful. Freaking Thug!

I would say it is a big difference since he was already on campus and not being re- recruited. I simply asked a question how does it pass the smell test? As far as Loyalty Club members for the smart *** comment above, both of these lawyers have a sky box so I would assume they are in the loop and simply trying to do what the rebs do best, spin it and cover it up. Word on the street is that the bonus has already been paid and the only problem now is Masoli wants to have his lawyer fees paid should he need them and wants UM to pay them and not be a UM attoreney. Going to be fun to follow. The only hypocrisy is how all the Umites called Sherrill a thug and Orgeron and Nutt could write a book. There is no way Cutcliffe or Tubberville would have taken this guy or Powe. Desperation makes people do desperate things. 5-7 without Masoli and probably 6-6 with him.

Ole Miss has a Loyalty Foundation and it is like our Bulldog Club with different levels of giving. I could care less how much these guys give, it was not the point of reference. The facts remain their alumni are trying to spin it just like the media in this state. www.OregonLive.com has numerous write-ups which show Masoli for what he really is and UM has proven once again, they will go to all lengths to win and the degree from there diminishes every time they do something like this or with Powe.

You are the dumbest mother 17er in all in the intertubes.

And its not like you are one of these rookie posters who doesn't understand college football and message board hypocrisy. You have been doing this for years and still haven't figured out that all D1 college football is dirty...including you favorite team.

The fact that you post this and within the post mention "spin" and "hypocrisy". You need a new hobby. I expect it from some, but you've been around long enough to know better. Therefore, you aren't just a homer, but a dumb homer.

I think 99.9% of Ole Miss fans realize he is not going to Ole Miss to up their academic standing.

I would suggest that some folks understand the win at all costs and it happens at numerous places, but Powe takes the cake and even the UM friends I have laugh and know he can't read or write. Maybe we can now get back to the real question and maybe I am dumb, but I ain't blind.

It doesn't diminish ****. If Powe does well this year, to a lesser degree like Oher, it will bring publicity that you can't buy.

The degree is no more diminished than MSU's was by bringing in Donte Jones.

If you don't like the "thug" talk about Sherill and such, don't be one of those people. You are no different that the people you ***** about.

I mean D1 football in general.

But I'm stabbing at it, so I have no idea.

You have schools like Cal, Notre Dame, USC, Vandy, Northwestern, Stanford, etc where most of the people on the team wouldn't qualify as a normal student.

I am certainly not naive and I have probably been watching this crap before you were born. My best friend in high school who was the Big 8's outstanding player signed with Vaught and the night before signing day he suddenly showed up with a new chevy and a pile of clothes from a local UM clothing merchant. he had already told all of us he was going to LSU or MSU.I also know MSU has cheated but I will disagee with you that 70% of college players couldn't get in or graduate from college. With tutors and crip course majors most can if they try. I guess a degree in Criminal Justice is better than selling dope on the streets and heck, 25,000 out of your own pocket(LOL) is fine for going to school for 4 months at most. The fact is most UM fans can't phathom that a good player may not go to school there without being paid. I will suggest that is because they have recruited very few players who were good without some incentive to go there. It has only gotten worst since integration and as Bob Tyler told me one time, "Vaught was the master and Bryant was right behind him." It has seldom ever changed at Ole Miss but name me one University in America who has a player with three criminal convictions(and yes they were convictions even though they may have been pled down). All the ******** about everybody deserves a 2nd chance is just that, this is a 4th chance and that is only the ones we know about. Try to make me the villian but we all know who are the real hypocrites in the SEC.
