Seems insane to me and very, very destructive to the innocent individuals involved. Is the female vote that critical to Dems that they would sacrifice innocent men?

During a House Education and Workforce Committee hearing, Democratic CongressmanJared Polis said that even if a whopping 80% of accused campus rapists are innocent, it was still better to kick them all out of school.

“I mean, we’re talking about a private institution,” he said. “If I was running one, I might say, ‘Well you know even if there’s a 20-30% chance that this happened, I would want to remove this individual.”

Freedom for Individual Rights in Education policy director Joseph Cohn responded by telling Polis that the sort of standard he was discussing would be highly unlikely to pass the due process requirements that public universities must legally abide by.

“It seems like we ought to provide more of a legal framework then that allows a reasonable likelihood standard or preponderance of evidence standard,” the Colorado Democrat responded. “If there’s ten people who have been accused, and under a reasonable likelihood standard maybe one or two did it, it seems better to get rid of all ten people.”

“We’re not talking about depriving them of life and liberty,” he laughed. “We’re talking about them transferred to another university.” That line earned him a smatter of applause.

“Let’s be clear about this,” Cohn said angrily. “That is not what we’re talking about.” But Polis cut him off and began questioning another witness.

Scary stupid. Like the guy in Florida who said Repubicans want you to die. That's their answer to health care. Sad, but some on the left actually believe this drivel.

Just like many on the right believed the BS about "Death Panels."

Have you read the bill? There are sections in there that talked about allocation of resourses.

Sad, a lot on the right believed in Death panels for the affordable care act, I guess both sides try to scare the rubes into voting for them.

Rubes? The rubes that vote strictly for the dems from slums and public housing are the real losers. Don't bring much to the table but sure take a lot from it.

That was to pay for end of life counseling. It's not a death panel, but making someone aware of the options, e.g. an 80-year old with cancer talking to their doctor about treatment options, related quality of life issues with those, and anticipated time left under each option. That's not a death panel. That's paying the doctor to give patients all of their options.

Not sure how this evolved into death panels. What do you think of the Dem Congressman's comments?

I don't like the guilty unless proven innocent move that some schools are making. The impact to the accused is much larger than the congressman implies. That's something that follows the accused, and it may not be so easy to walk into another school. I have no sympathy for predators, but we can't punish everyone who is accused being one without due process. That isn't supposed to be what this country is about.

Gee, I have really been misled. For some reason, I have heard Drs ***** because a panel of approximately 16 people, not associated Drs, were making decisions on whether operations on some older folks was cost worth/effective. So you are now telling me that I should appeal the decision to not fix my herniated lung by some group other than my Dr. Who in hell was that group and the group that is about to be appointed by politicians?
