That Zac Selmon is even putting out feelers to see if he could land someone worth replacing Lebby with. I was all for Lebby moving forward but then I watched the game last night and he knocked some sense into me
I doubt Zac Selmon is doing anything but waiting for the Oklahoma AD job to come open. That Zac Selmon is even putting out feelers to see if he could land someone worth replacing Lebby with. I was all for Lebby moving forward but then I watched the game last night and he knocked some sense into me
Nope. That Zac Selmon is even putting out feelers to see if he could land someone worth replacing Lebby with. I was all for Lebby moving forward but then I watched the game last night and he knocked some sense into me
Probably not but he should be actively looking at other good coaches!!That Zac Selmon is even putting out feelers to see if he could land someone worth replacing Lebby with. I was all for Lebby moving forward but then I watched the game last night and he knocked some sense into me
Selmon is 100% responsible for hiring Lebby over a proven HC, Barry Odom.I don't think we have anyone in administration (especially Keenum) who has a clue what to do. That's why we're in this situation in the first place.
That is exactly what needs to happen, but I don't think Keenum takes anything in the athletic department seriously. It all seems like it's an unwelcome distraction for him.Selmon is 100% responsible for hiring Lebby over a proven HC, Barry Odom.
Keenum needs to put Selmon in the corner, fire Lebby and fire Selmons *** too if he doesn't start taking State football more serious.
This, in any business you always keep a bench of candidatesIf he has any sense as an AD he’s got a working list. Because you never know what may happen. Unless he’s incompetent too. It’s part of his job.
No - Lebby and him vacation together. I really don't see him firing his friend this year. That Zac Selmon is even putting out feelers to see if he could land someone worth replacing Lebby with. I tend to agree, but I think the pool of candidates will only shrink between this year and next. A lot of coaches will be getting new jobs soon, and they won't likely be available next year. With all of the high end jobs out there, already to be filled, who do you hire?
It is a terrible time to be hiring a coach.... I'd hold.
We’re not getting anyone Florida Penn St or LSU would be hiring whether those jobs were open or not. When it’s clear you will eventually need to make a change you need to do it immediately. We won’t of course but we should. With all of the high end jobs out there, already to be filled, who do you hire?

We're not competing with those schools for candidates, but we would be competing with the schools who lose their coach to those schools. We’re not getting anyone Florida Penn St or LSU would be hiring whether those jobs were open or not. Not if we act before their jobs come open. Regardless, there will always be competition to hire coaches. We don’t know what jobs will be open next year. The competition may be worse. Fear of competition is a terrible reason to keep a bad coach. We're not competing with those schools for candidates, but we would be competing with the schools who lose their coach to those schools.
Not trying to be contrite here, but are any of the people looking at "high end jobs" even a realistic candidate here? With all of the high end jobs out there, already to be filled, who do you hire?

Ha, Lebby is a 'loss leader' in more than one way.The first thing an AD has to do in this situation is get the big money boosters on board. Figure out how much money is available to pursue a new coach. We've gone bargain basement for 3 years and we're still operating at a deficit, so better make sure the Bulldog club is prepared.
I get the idea of hiring a cheaper coach and putting money in NIL, but if we fire Lebby (and I think we should) we're telling candidates they have two years to turn this train wreck around.
The going rate for that in the SEC is $7MM, minimum.
