Does anyone care to share the real story on BDJ /Blitz "merger"?

I bought a one-year subscription to BDJ right before the merger and I'm pretty positive that the transaction resembles this, with me playing the role of purple guy and BDJ playing the role of tan guy.

and I feel screwed too. I never received any information directly about the merger. No, "here's what's happening" email or anything (even though they had no problem filling my email before). It just all seems really shady and half-assed.

withdrawn, the latest being 6/20/11. Just cancelled it and won't be back. Since they put paying BDJ members on the free board until the merger is done, you'd think they would have at least suspended the payments. Plus, like most others have said, the board setup sux.

I, and I suspect all other premium members, would like to hear it. I was a lifetime member and it appears M. Wardlaw must have been overcome with work. We absolutely never hear from him in any way now. BDJ was great. But what we have now is to be pitied. No merger could take this long. There seems to be no going back.

. . . with his MSU business endeavors. His original Maroon & White magazine with Bo Bounds was a complete piece of trash that he couldn't manage. Never got sent my subscription after asking him repeatedly for it. Luckily, I was not charged for it, but still . . . terrible customer service, mainly due to the difficulty contacting the guy and getting a response.

Unfortunately, not much has changed. Paul has been beyond fantastic and represents MSU better than Gene, David Murray, or any other 'net or print media ever could. But Wardlaw is an idea monger that has major issues managing the practical side of a business. Handling BDJ is not an easy task, but seriously, it's so much easier than many other small businesses that deal with products, many more staff, local and state regulatory bureaus, etc.

I like the work that Paul and Logan do immensely, but I hope this merger has better days coming--possibly during football season--because outside of PJ's and LL's insight and analysis, the rest of the information has become more akin to GenesWorld. BDJ did not start out that way.

Crossing fingers and still hoping for the best.

was Wardlaw's. BDJ was really fine in my opinion. Totally agree about Paul. He's a tireless worker who turns out a good product. To his credit, he has not bad-mouthed Michael at all. Even though clearly the whole burden of dealing with subscribers has fallen on him. I am still holding out some hope but it is waning.

Most people don't realize that for the last several months of its existence, BDJ was free too. I mean you could pay them for a membership, but all those suppose-to-be-premium articles were free.

Every day I lean a little closer towards getting that refund that Wardlaw says is available.

I also did the subscription purchase right before the move with "the deal" and still don't have access to the premium board, as such I just try and log in to read a thread about once a week and give up to no avail. Last two emails to MW weren't answered for me either. I like the old side I saw but since the move ... I'm hoping it is figured out by football season, not going to be too worried about it before then

It is obvious that Wardlaw was ready to cash out no matter what happened to the customers. There was obviously not enough work done to see what it was going to take on the Rivals side before they merged everyone. It is a total cluster-17 and I'm done paying for it.

The number one thing I liked about BDJ was their forums. I can't stand the ones on Rivals. I also can't stand that the message boards are public and that I don't have access to the private ones. It would be a much better deal to stop paying BDJ and just pay for a Rivals account, but I think I am just through with both of them.

if there is a 'cancel membership' button, i could not find the damn thing.. the transition is flat out terrible. i did all the steps you were supposed to do to transfer over and never was able to access... email after email was sent asking why i couldn't gain access after i followed all transition steps, emails never returned and was still being charged monthly by paypal.. had to cancel the membership on paypal 'cause i never could find a cancel membership button or the like.

i liked BDJ because the setup.. everything about it actually. BB was terrible from the beginning and now they made BDJ terrible.. hate to say it, but back to scout.com for any recruiting info.

BDJ died of a quick death with that merger, in my opinion.

If you have to cancel through Rivals now, good luck with that. The only way to cancel is to call them. Don't take the free trial they're going to offer because you have to go through the whole process all over again to cancel that. They're only open from 8-5, and it takes anobscene amount of time on hold to talk to anyone.</p>

Made a donation for the tix, had friends come in town to use them, and waited and waited and waited and no show at will call. No show. I was about to shell out bug bucks for that sellout to get my guests their tickets and had someone give a pair at the last minute. I didn't mind the money bc it was a good cause for Duffy but it had me in a horrible spot with folks depending on those seats I promised

Would have been for Wardlaw to buy out Genespage and take that over on scout and rename it Bulldawg Junction.

They could retain whoever they wanted to. Jones could cover Mississippi recruiting and Rosebowl could do Louisiana and out of state recruiting. Or they could just dump Rosebowl. Paul does a better job than Steve when it comes to coverage, and he's honest and he doesn't act like he knows everything. Jones just wants to cover things accurately.

They would end up with a better mb and a better recruit database.

Is Wardlaw trying to burn the candle at both ends? Does he have a "real job" and then "BDJ"?<div>
</div><div>The baffling thing is that he is never around to give explanations or defend anything. You may see a "the transition is taking longer than we think, but you're going to excited. blah blah blah". Finally someone admitted that the forums were not going to change and everyone is stuck with them. They suck. Plain and simple. Very limited features.</div><div>
</div><div>But Paul is left to defend BDJ and all the (mostly) legitimate griping that gets done. Where is Wardlaw?</div>

but people who have paid to be a member don't deserve to have other people get the same information for free. I really enjoy the stories by Bob Carskadon , Whit, and Paul Jones. I don't see Logan Lowery doing a lot; I thought that by adding him that he'd add another perspective, but he's been relatively low key on bulldogblitz since I have gotten there.

Paul and Bob do most of the stories and Wardlaw has been MIA since the merger. I paid $200 for a two lifetime memberships but I only have one; I emailed MW and asked him to set up an account for the 2nd one and he never did. Now I have what everyone else can get for free, but it cost me $200.
