Does anyone else find it odd that our old coach is still making excuses?

How many head coaches, after "resigning" talk about what they were going to do, or what they were promised?

Croom, I admired you as a person, but you are pissing that away every interview.

Just curious, but what was it that you admired about Croom? Was it the BS he spouted about character, because all I saw out of the guy was constant excuses and passing the buck? If he had the character that he liked to speak about so much, he'd have accepted responsibility for things going wrong, even when they weren't his fault. The fact that he's still essentially making excuses shouldn't come as a surprise. It's no different than anything he did during his 5 years at MSU.

He might as well blame all the fans and Jack Cristil...

He needs to own up to the GCO and his no coaching fat ***...

I don't think he will ever coach again, who would hire him???

for the last five years he's been blaming:
Jackie
Jackie's players
his players
probation
the fans
the alumni
the Internet
the public school system in Mississippi

Why should he stop now?

He does'nt have the mentality to be a head football coach in so many ways.I wish somebody would ask him with all these coaching vacancies, just how many interviews he's had. I bet not a damn 1.

He`s not a stand up guy at all and everytime you ask for specific examples of his "greatness" "character" "good man" qualities you get no response or a blank stare. It`s like " Sylvester Croom is a great man pass it on" and not a damn soul wants to know why it`s being said.</p>

look at hc at the D1 level: "[W]e were going to clean things up during the first three years and then start to built the program after that." Now that salaries have gone up, schools aren't going to wait five years or more for a winning program. You need to start to build the program from day one.

That's called marketing. Basically he spewed the character and discipline lines so much that everyone bought what he was selling. Yet no one ever thought to check back and see if what he was actually doing fit that line. Outside of the beginning of his tenure when he went "tough love" on Jackie's players, he did very little in the way of discipline, and all the excuse making and the attacks at the fans showed a lack of character.

Like I said before, if he had great character, he'd be taking the blame when things go wrong even if they weren't necessarily his fault. Basically, outside of proclaiming to be a Christian man, there was very little he did to back up the marketing job that he put on. And naturally the media ran with it because he was the first African-American coach in the SEC, and they were going to give him a pass for as long as possible.

Of course, the bad thing for you is that now you have to put up with a group of your fans that will continue to believe that the most important quality in a head coach is character and discipline, sort of like the portion of our fanbase that still thinks we should be flipping out about recruiting rankings. It takes some a little longer to get over it.
