Does anyone else get the feeling that Wendell is going through some personal issues or
I suspect that in the European tour he was told: "Wendell, you and Moultrie need to destroy these slower European players down low, because you should be quicker, stronger and better." Because they were, andhe and Moultrie did just that.
At the start of the season some of this spilled over and he picked up 5-8 pts per game on put-back dunks, a few passes to him for decent looks, good rebounding, etc...
Then as Sidney's fat *** comes in out of shape, demanding the ball every time down the floor, Lewis' touches went to ~0~. I suspect he was told at this point, justcrash the boards and play some defense. Which he kind ofdoes, some games better than others, but it seemsthe other night (maybe Alabama?) when Sidney got into foul trouble and Wendell got a bunch ofminutes he came through with a good game....and we were asking, where hashe been the past 7-8 games?
Can't argue that Sidney should sit in favor of Lewis, because thatwould be stupid, but somehow Lewis needs to be more involved when he is in there, because when he goes in the game kind of half assed, he hurts us. WhenAU first went to the zone yesterday, Lewis flashed to the FT line and they got him the ball and he instantly bobbled it and lost it. Next couple of possessions, Sidney received that pass and did better with it.
I think Lewis is not too smart. He either needs to go 100%full speed ahead or not at all. He could be the enforcer type on this team who picksup brutal fouls under the basket, because we are missing that player. We play soft, and with Sidney standing there watchinguncontested layups it makes me sick.
