Does anyone else have the same lingering feeling I have?

I've been a State fan long enough to know that for everything good that happens, bad comes in 2 fold. Example, we win the Liberty Bowl, our team decides they don't like Budweiser. With the run of bad luck for OM and our streak of good fortune.....I'm terrified of what the Indian Burial Ground has in store for us.

Hell no, I don't have any "lingering feeling" of "bad coming in 2 fold." Your attidute has permeated our athletic dept. and fanbase for WAY too long and it's past time to get rid of it. There's ONE program in this state that's moving in the right direction and it's time to get on board with it and leave the old losing, defeated attitude behind.

One of the quickest ways to fail is to expect it. I'm sick of it, and I'm trying on a thick coat of wool for a change. The attitude and actions of our athletic department make this feel different than before. Things aren't going well on accident. They are making them happen. I'm wooled up, on board, and fired up.

Welcome to the NEW MState. I have had the Burial Ground mentality, for entertainment purposes only.

But really, Its all a "Culture", "Mindset", or "Attitude". In the meantime, keep writing the checks to make it all go.

My "Attitude" changed when Lonnie Tinkle hit the street. I have no reason to think otherwise.

Now with the RSS leading us in basketball, let's hope Stans stays out of they way and we make the Sweet 16 this year. If Cohen will just lead us to a Super Regional in baseball, then we will really be back. It's a good time to be a bulldog, just ask Brassell......

"Abandon all hope ye who cheer for the maroon and white except in 1941" ... ?

How about, to paraphrase the great Billy Bob from Varsity Blues, "Yea though I walk through the Valley of Death, I will fear no faggots from Oxford!"

It's hard not to feel like something bad's about to happen after it's happened so many times. But instead of blaming the Indian burial mound or bad luck, maybe we should blame all that's happened on performance. For example, in the past if coaches would have worked a little harder on recruiting, coaching and teaching... If fans would've shown more support.... If players would have put forth more effort in practice ... I think much of what happens in life depends on how we prepare, react, respond. Sure there's the once in a lifetime missed field goal into a hurricane force wind but for the most part, what happens and success is determined by the effort put forth. When you do the minimum to get by, you get minimal results. Mullen has shown something I've not seen from lots of other coaches and I think the result from the players is often a reflection on how the coach goes about his business. Just my two cents

I sincerly hope this thread does not get bumped in a month or two ... yeah, I'm wooly like everyone else right now but PBR does have a point... and don't forget the last decade as yall pile on ... don't know if TERRIFIED is the correct terminology given what we have seen so far, but how many of us were this wooly when croom took us to the liberty bowl... then back to reality a year later . I don't think this is the case here and feel like we as fans can relax and enjoy for a change, but how can anyone on this board hammer another 6-pkr for being a little paranoid ??

90% of the hell we all went through the last decade was self-inflicted. I'm not saying everything's going to be blue skies and clear sailing from here on out, but we finally have a group of people running things who understand how to win and how to work to win. For the first time in a long time, we're actually putting ourselves in the game instead of just conceding without even trying.

There is absolutely nothing I have seen from Dan Mullen or his staff that would ever indicate that they would come out flat against a WAC school and get beat in a season opener then go on to lose 3-2 to an average Auburn team.

It has been the Curse of Larry Templeton. That one man did more to sabotage Mississippi State than all the OM alumni put together.

Doc Foglesong, MD, removed that cancerous growth from MSU and we have been getting better ever since.

The Saints won the Super Bowl.

Think about that. The indians apparently don't care anymore.

(Hopefully) the Indians have left...to go bear hunting.
