Does anyone know what set Hood off?

he never touched that guy. That HOOD got a tech is about all you need to know about those "refs".

I think that's what is missing in basketball. Stan's divides the fan base. Mullen unites. This is why the atmosphere at DW is so much better than at the hump.

is that Sidney was pulling him away on the series before he got the T. SIDNEY with the cool head. I cannot imagine what set off cool hand Hood this bad.

A Tech on a nothing 'comment' at the end of the game in a game changing situation? Was this the crew that Stans threw under the bus after the Kentucky game a couple years ago? We've definitely gotten some light calls but tonight takes the case.

First of all I understand there are people who don't want Stan but you have that percentage in every fan base. Hell there are dumb asses who bash Mullen on Six Pack. I say there are more fans who like Stans then dislike him and if they are staying home because of that then they are not fans just dumb asses because things are going pretty good. How many wins right now with a bunch of games to play and a top 40 RPI and a top 20 ranked team. People are just stupid. </p>

This stuff makes me sick. I think Stans has coached a helluvaseason. I think he struggled last year and the year before, but I see him as Back this season. Inept? That's as low as it gets and it is ridiculous.

He got irritated that in the 2nd half they allowed the defender to slap at him and he couldnt retaliate without a foul.

His gripe was letit. But when one ref is insulted, he'll call you closer. Rodney, who pisses off nobody, figured out a way.

2/3rds of this crew was poor. One third was ok.

Refs have become very thin skinned these last few years and there are a handful that can't take criticism at all. I agree that it is a ref's right to apply a technical but that tech should only be applied if what the player said or does takes away from what was occurring on the court. Hood saying some choice words does not merit that and these ref's get their feelings hurt and go on a power trip... Today's ref , something Nance is prone to do that as well as Anthony Jordan, Mike Stuart and Doug Shows to name a few regulars we see that often get their panties in a bunch. Bottom line, a referee is primarily going to be the most criticized person on the court and if you are to ignorant to realize that before you become a referee you should not be given that authority.

of his fouls. After the 1st, Dee wasn't happy with the call and the old bastard watched Dee really close. I think Dee pissed him off and he called Dee differenlty afterwards. I'm guessing the 1/3 good you are talking about wasn't the old white haired one or the black dude that was awful. I don't even recall the 3rd ref because these 2 made enough calls against us for him. They sucked, yet we won still!

He should have stuck with baseball. He even got in to a little spat with one of the fans during a break in the first half. He was beyond bad, the worst was the call on Dee on the 3 pointer. Or it seemed bad to me, was at the game so didn't see a replay. But they were bad both ways, there was one obvious travel on Hood that they totally missed, just typical of the day they had.

We will be seeing much more of this for the rest of the season. I read recently where officials were sent a memo to clean up the back talk, specifically, to not be afraid to call technicals. Basically a zero tolerance policy. You could tell this was the case on Hood's T as Nance clearly had it out for him. Earlier poster was right about Nance, Jordan & Stuart. I tend to think Shows is actually the most fair ref we have.

Bama player going up for a shot got smacked on the head and no foul. Anthony Grant didn't like it and the ref Teed him up almost immediately. Part of being a good referee is understanding the emotions of the game and not getting on some kind of power trip when someone questions your call. I've noticed a lot more of that this year with the refs this. As someone above said, they seem to be awfully thin skinned.

Petty is more in line with everybody else and Bruce doesn't make the data due to not enough games called. We can only hope he doesn't ever make the cut based on yesterday.

and it looked like the player guarding Hood gave him quick shove. Ref was standing a few feet away and didn't call anything. Hoodimmediately turned his back to the ball for a few seconds and said something to the ref. This was several minutes before the tech.

Hood got the tech because he didn't leave it alone when told too. A couple of possessions before the tech the official point blank told him he missed the call. At that point Hood needs to zip it up and just play. He griped about a call that went against us on the tech basically the call it both ways comment and that got him teed up. I thought the refs didn't have a real good night especially Bruce. Although Dees last 2 fouls were good calls.

It was this that got it all started. Au player shoved Hood after a pass and the ref let it go.

the geniuses showing the game on TV failed to show a replay of either the original foul call (which looked to me from the one time I saw it to be a bad call) or what Hood did following the call.<div>
</div><div>Perhaps it's just because I haven't watched a lot of that regional broadcast this year, but it seemed to me like there were very few replays on TV throughout the whole game, and it really annoyed me.</div>
