honestly, who really thinks that this team has done enough to deserve a bid? what has this team done that deserves it? beating vandy? 8-8 in an average sec?

Our depth caught up to us late in the season, but if you reversed our start and our finish, you'd say we deserve a shot.

Plus MSU is my team, and I want us to succeed. Other teams have made the tourney based on early season kudos that have been shown to be overblown. Why can't we be the beneficiary for once.

I don't think we'll get in, but I do think the negative energy of much of the fanbase is a factor that's working against us. if we get in, we get a new chance to make the season a success. How could you be a fan and not want that? Please wait until it's over to run Stans off.

We should be in as an 5 or 6 seed if we had a coach worth a damn.... I wan to make the NCAA, but I want him gone.. We have way too much talent on this team to be on the bubble, and that might just get us a bid...

no one else is really better. But if we don't we have no where to look except the mirror. Can't blame the committee.

If we stumbled early and got hot late with arecordof 21-11, I'd give us the nod. But the fact we absolutely suck at the time when we should be shining...no, we don't belong.

Kind of a Cosmos rule to me. You get what you deep down want. It's not so much the message board angst; it's more of the wishy-washy negative feeling. We are so disappointed by some of our late season performances that our resume oozes with the negative feelings. I guess I feel more than think that it hurts our chances.

I don't mind too much when people like to stay positive in life (no, that's actually a good thing), but how... are we...the fans... how is our negative energy... affecting a 17ing selection process..? Is there some big brother program in the NCAA program that collectively watches the mood of those affiliated with said university (or at the very least read a **** load of message board posts)?<div>
</div><div>If these guys do not make the tournament, it's their fault. The only thing that I will attribute fan negativity towards poor performance are the times when player's feel like their fans have turned their backs on them. How big of a role that played during the season is debatable... but right now... you made it rather apparent that you really believe that fan negativity is the straw that broke the camel's back as to why we may not get selected... not when a very talented team lose to multiple ****** teams. This... is when optimism seems to switch to lunacy to me.</div><div>
</div><div>I wish that type of thinking worked in everyone's daily life. Maybe if I stay positive I'll actually win the power ball and pay off my family's debt. Yea... I might try that since you say it'll work.</div>

Our resume oozes with negativity because of losing 6 out our last 8 gamesand the PLAYERS actions on the court, andcomments in the paper and twitter. I realize a player's quote in print, isn't an official consideration for the selection committee. But if I am on the committee......I see/read the comments that have been byState's PLAYERS in the papers.....I consider other teams. Teams that are still fighting to get in and trying........not teams kicking opponents out of frustration, quitting when they get a few points down, pouting....

to being a little bit crazy. I'm kinda laughing at it myself.

I didn't say it is the over-riding factor; I said it is a factor.

Bottom line is that I would love to see us get into the dance. I hope that you would love it, too.

I do not know too many people that really do not want to see us make the dance. I know of a few and quite frankly... my impression of their powers of reasoning is pretty low.<div>
</div><div>I may not like Stans' coaching ability and really want him gone, but if he somehow backs into the tournament I'll cheer for the team more than I will him.</div><div>
</div><div>Only thing... I just can't agree with fan energy being a factor. I just don't rationally see how that could be possible, but I guess we'll just have to leave that there. I've learned by now that people will believe a lot of things that I just can't comprehend and vice versa.</div>

Not giving a ****, retardation, and laziness get rewarded. There's a better chance of 18 purple monkeys flying out of my *** than this team coming within 15 points of any legit team at this point so why the 17 bother? Some people just don't seem to be able to figure out when a team has mailed it in when it is obvious.

*Not giving a ****, retardation, and laziness get rewarded.*

It would almost be immoral for our Mississippi State team to get into the dance. I never thought it would come down to that but it sure as hell has now. They simply don't give a ****.</p>

into the top 100 RPI our "bad" loss now only consists of @Auburn, unless people want to throw @Arkansas in there.
Compare to wins against @Vandy and Bama, plus a win against fellow bubble team Arizona on a neutral cout, along with NCAA participants WVU and @Detroit. There are worse resumes on the bubble right now.
I ain't sayin' we're in, but bad losses aren't a reason we should be out.
