Jeebus, I don't even follow college baseball, but I was in school in the mid-80s. Following the Spring Break road trip to Hawaii, that team dropped 5 straight, including a 3 game sweep @Auburn, and a loss to Mississippi College. They blamed it on a couple of the players stealing rocks from a Hawaii volcano.
Anyway, I guess if we had the Internet back then this board would have been up in arms about how Palmeiro's average had dropped below .300, and how stupid it was to use our right fielder as a relief pitcher. Granted, that team had already proven themselves to be pretty good, but I still find it hard to get worked up over a couple losses.
