very well. For MSU to make the Cotton Bowl we'd have the win the west outright. And outside the national championship game, that's as high as we can go. So to say we should be "due for at least a cotton bowl" incorrectly assumes there is a higher level we could achieve, and there simply is not. Unless, of course, you are picking us to be in the running for the national championship. And if that's true, I've wasted my time even replying.

We need to win 2 of 4 against...Auburn, Ga Tech, LSU, and Tenn. If we do that, 8 wins is a good possibility.
I haven't checked the board in a few days and all of a sudden we are going to the cotton bowl? Is this the same team that was gonna have trouble beating La Tech? What happened to the pessimistic (realistic) board I used to know and love? As much as I WOULD LOVE 9 WINS........its not going to happen. I also find it funny that it is assumed that we will beat auburn. It is this fools opinion that auburn is going to beat the (rule 17) out of us. The only thing that we will have going for us in that game is that they have to play LSU the following weekend. In typical Tuberville fashion they will be punching it into the endzone with 30 seconds left in the game and them already leading by 20. Also I think that we will either beat BAMA OR Mississippi. We will not beat both, and I think BAMA is a likely L too. In short, the state of Louisiana is as far west as our team will travel this year. We will make it to Atlanta though! (GA TECH)
