so if you have good network to the curb (e.g., fiber), no need for roof dish with DirectTV?I heard it's just like having DirectTV without the dish. So, no black outs with clouds.
It's a streaming app through internet. Cspire offers it. I don't use it but my understanding it's DirectTV streamed no dish.so if you have good network to the curb (e.g., fiber), no need for roof dish with DirectTV?
He is talking about the pure streaming version. No satellite involved.Does DirecTV automatically switch to streaming when there's a weather outage like Dish does?
Are you going to have free access to SEC NW +, also? We get a lot of games that way.I switched to the streaming app from YTTV Saturday. No problems at all so far. What I got is a bit higher than YTTV, but it has Fandual and YTTV didn't. I like getting the Preds and Braves.
No, it doesn't look like i'll have access to SEC+. But sometimes you can log in to espn app under the DTV acct and get it that way, i was able to when i previously had Sat version of DTV.Are you going to have free access to SEC NW +, also? We get a lot of games that way.
That's essentially what I mean, thanks. No, it doesn't look like i'll have access to SEC+. But sometimes you can log in to espn app under the DTV acct and get it that way, i was able to when i previously had Sat version of DTV.
I had switched from FUBO to YTTV. FUBO was good for sports, for some other things it was not so good. I might have gone back, but it's now owned by Disney. That's what the whole YTTV thing is about, Disney trying to force people to their own platform. What I'm paying for DTV now is about $20 less than what I was paying for FUBO.My father in law uses it. He likes it. It’s a lot like Apple TV. I don’t like the layout personally. But he hasn’t had any issues. It’s just a streaming service. And it’s one of the more expensive.
look at FUBO. It’s great and is geared towards watching sports

I noticed the lag too. It's not horrible but it's longer than was average in YTTV.Not bad takes some getting used to like the functions of setting up my own guide and then being able to move channels around it. So far I've notice a longer lag than YTTV at one point last night it was 30 seconds behind Hadad on X lol
Yes. Mine does.Does DirecTV automatically switch to streaming when there's a weather outage like Dish does?

I knew that about YTTV, just not sure about DTV, they don't highlight that point, and it is important....to me.@karlchilders.sixpack
If you have any cable/satellite/streaming service that carries SEC network you get SEC+ on the ESPN app.
I have it. Good picture. Decent guide interface. Not as good as YouTube TV though. But easily can get used to it. It has buffered during a game before. Gave a message about network congestion. Haven’t seen it any more.I'm thinking about getting it, does anyone have it? If so, what's the pros and cons?
Nah. You can stream multiple sets easily on fiber. No problem. Just have a good router. I have my living room set wired Ethernet to the Apple TV and the others wireless. Never had an issue.so if you have good network to the curb (e.g., fiber), no need for roof dish with DirectTV?
You have to have a clear view of the sky, but I’m in the sticks also and I use StarLink for Internet service. Works well for the most part. It will go out with a really heavy rain, but have never lost service for more than a minute or two.We still have Dish out here in the sticks. The streaming Dish app does well when Im away from home. We do not have fiber, so satellite a necessity. Still nothing on ever except for sports.
I'm running three screens right now...no problem at all. I've got nominal 1 gig internet. It usually tests about 850 or so. I've run five HD streams before with no problems.Nah. We do have ATT but we are the last customer on the line. It is super slow for streaming. Might do Starlink after the shutdown and life returns to normal. You have to have a clear view of the sky, but I’m in the sticks also and I use StarLink for Internet service. I have the DTV streaming service with the genie. It's great. The thing I like about it is that with the genie, you can navigate directly to the channel with the remote versus have to scroll thru a bunch of stations to get where you want. If you're a surfer, it's the way to go. It's essentially the same format/layout as what you would have with the satellite service.I'm thinking about getting it, does anyone have it? It'll be $5 cheaper than what i currently have, YTTV.It's expensive
Maybe to start with but it's not cheaper than YTTV, plus you've got the genie too. I cut my costs by $30 a month switching to YTTV.It'll be $5 cheaper than what i currently have, YTTV.

I'm wrong, that was an one month discount price. It'll actually be $60 higher per month after the first month. That's a no go for me!It's expensive
We are supposed to be getting fiber in the next few months. When that happens, I’ll disconnect Star Link.We do have ATT but we are the last customer on the line. It is super slow for streaming. Might do Starlink after the shutdown and life returns to normal.
This is the best tv serviceI'm thinking about getting it, does anyone have it? If so, what's the pros and cons?
I bought a used Genie on EBay for about $40. It’s about as close to using cable as it gets. You have everything the app has only you can go directly to a channel by using the channel number. Only thing the picture quality is slightly better when using my Sony TV’s software. I read somewhere on the internet that it would be better than using a streaming service device. I was skeptical but I then compared the two and it was true. That may not be the case with all tv brands. The difference is subtle so may not matter to most but I’m now just using the app.I have the DTV streaming service with the genie. It's great.
