With a 3rd string QB, Baylor just destroyed UNC last night, ACC's 2nd best team. I already like Oklahoma in that game, and maybe to win it all. Anybody else have their opinion changed (or confirmed, in my case) by the game last night?
Is this one of those threads that makes fun of the acc because of Louisville? Because, no, north Carolina versus Baylor four weeks after the season is over in the Russell athletics bowl doesn't change my opinion of two other teams. Bowl games are half random. You never know which team is more motivated.
UNC's defense is garbage.OKlahoma may beat Clemson but they will not beat Bama if they beat MSU.

Sure everybody can be beat including Bama, I just do not think a Big12 team that was lucky to beat Tennessee will beat Bama.Nobody gave Oklahoma a chance at beating Alabama in the Sugar Bowl a couple of years ago either. But they did. Nobody gave Ohio State much of a chance at beating Bama in the playoffs last year. But they did. Alabama is certainly a good program and being they are an SEC team I root for them when they are representing our conference. But they aren't some unbeatable machine. If Alabama can lose to 9-3 Ole Miss, they can lose to Oklahoma (or anyone in the playoffs for that matter).

MSU got the best deal of the draw for the first games. Its approach and defense is best suited to Bama's run oriented offense. Had Sparty matched against Clemson or OU, I think its path would have been much more difficult.
OU v. Clemson is an intriguing matchup and a game I am really looking forward to.
Not so sure...still remember the last time Dantonio went against Saban in the Citrus Bowl...that got ugly and Alabama speed on defense IMO is going to reek havoc on Cook and the Michigan State offense
You think Clemson or OU would be a better matchup for MSU?

Clemson...IMO Oklahoma is the best team in the country and Bama is #2...plus right now Clemson has the distraction of losing their #2 WR

If Greg McElroy and Julio Jones were part of the 2015 Bama offense, I would agree that 2011 game would be relevant. But, this Bama offense is much more grounded than that one. MSU gets to prepare for the least creative of the four offenses and a team that it can get blue collar with.
We disagree. It is not about rankings or RPI, but about match ups.
Bama did not lose to Texas either.Well Bama was lucking to beat UT took, they trailed late in the 4th quarter and didn't take the lead until the very end of the game. Granted they didn't trail as much at OU did, but it wasn't a blowout victory for them either.
Not saying MSU is going to win, but they have beaten the #4 (Mich), 10 (OSU), and 15 (PSU) defenses in the country. And scored 55 on PSU. Bama's defense isn't much better than those.

I don't think Bama is a sure win, but Bama's front 7 is better than either of those as a unit and much deeper. Bosa might be the best player of the 4 teams but Bama's front as a unit is much deeper. Unlike Bama teams of the past, this group can get pressure on the qb without sending extra guys, they haven't been able to that before. MSU could easily win the game, I think their qb is quite a bit better than Bama's but I don't think he has seen the pressure Bama can apply to him with only 4 guys either. Anything can happen, but I think Bama wins a closer game than many expect.
Made the plays against Texas as well, oh my bad they got thumped.Lucky to beat UT? The drove late to tie then intercepted the hot shot UT QB in OT to seal the win. Tennessee choked, Oklahoma made the plays.

Bama has a very good defense and I am not predicting MSU to win, as I think it will be a defensive struggle and close game.
