Does Byrne care enough to fire the women's soccer coach?

Since Neil Macdonald took over the women's soccer team in 2004, our women's soccer team has gone from pretty bad to awful:

2004: 9-9-3, 5-5-1 SEC
2005: 4-11-4, 2-8-1 SEC
2006: 2-16, 1-10 SEC
2007: 6-12-1, 2-8-1

2008 so far: 5-14, 0-10 SEC

Surely it's time for GB to affirm his commitment to excellence in all sports and cut him lose, right?

I'm also glad that there are others that care enough to see all our teams be competitive. I know that most on here only care about the big 3 sports (and that's fine). I am a realist in that I don't expect us to win the SEC every year in the minor sports given our little resources compared to the big guys, but I do expect us to be competitive. In addtion to the soccer coach, others that should see a shake up soon inlcude Fanning (basketball) and Seals (volleyball).

Our volleyball and soccer teams are a combined 1-20 in the SEC.

As far as I'm concerned, anyway. The team is pretty much entirely juniors and seniors, and we've added the height that's been missing. This team should be much improved. If it's not, it's time.

1 or 2 great players surrounded by a bunch of people like Brutius is not a winning combination.

with fambrough, thomas, and tan the man, i'll never understand. we also should've hosted the regional that year of the us women's open at old waverly.

i'll also never forget actually getting to the tennessee women's game in starkville early (not really sure why), because while tennessee was doing layups, michelle snow threw down a one hand jam. the crowd was in awe, so on the next one, she threw it down with two hands. ridiculous. that was a fun game, one of the several where the little guard lawson beat us at the buzzer.

I work with a woman who is a former All-SEC basketball player for an out of state school. Fanning tried to recruit her back when she was at Kentucky. A couple of years ago when we hired her she and I were talking about women's basketball and I mentioned that Sharon Fanning was MSU's coach. She got kind of a surprised look on her face and just shook her head and said, "I can't believe that woman's still in the league."
