Does Crxxm get axed if we lose to MTSU?

Curious, due to the fact that other big name schools have fired coaches mid-season i.e. Franklin @ Auburn and Bowden @ Clemson. Losing to MTSU will ensure we will finish with a grand total of 2 victories. I can't wait to see the empty stadium when we let our seniors take the field for the Arkansas loss. If we stay with Crxxm after a loss to MTSU, it will kill recruiting, it will kill fund raising for the BC, and it will kill our program. Should he lose, firing him will cause a firestorm with the liberal media, but hey, it's the SEC, you gotta win! Take your lumps and start looking at next year.

Should we end up with a 2 win season, and he's retained for another year, big mistake. This leopard ain't gonna change his spots. This team could have easily put Tenn. away with points on that opening drive. We stalled and then missed an easy field goal. Tenn. looked horrible, but we played classic MSU/Croom conservative football and then had to PASS our way to keep up. Ain't gonna happen with a 5' 10" QB that walked on and is now STARTING in the SEC.

He stays and you'll definately see a pullback in financial commitments, especially from me.</p>

He could defecate on the grave of the first Bully and tear down the bust of Stephen D. Lee and he would still be coach.

I think it'd be hard to find a reason NOT to fire him. I know we are MState and holding on to ****** coaches is our modus operandi, but we have held on to this loser for 5 years. Most other schools would have gotten rid of him in year 3. So we are still abiding by our own miserable guidelines.

So I say buy, if we lose out, Croom will either resign or be reassigned.

Too many people, including Croom, think there is no way he can be fired

I think Croom needs a clear understanding that he is not getting the job done, & he is at risk of falling out of his new tax bracket.

If the administration has some back room deal to keep Croom through 2009, then the boo birds are required to get loud

Wrong. The crickets need to be loud.

and who cares what the liberal media thinks. I am tired of being the laughing stock of the SEC. Everybody is listening to the liberal media regarding the election and you see how well that is going.

Down with Crooms <edited due to political ending>

Your defense is actually not that bad, so you will probably beat Arkansas and MTSU and you will probably give us fits, too. Your defense has no power to stop interceptions that are returned for touchdowns.

I really believe that if Crooms only wins 2 this year, he will be gone... 3, 4, or 5 and you are in trouble.

They are not a bad team and you know they smell blood. How fitting it would be for our coach to have done to him that he's has done to other coaches.</p>

I think you are right. I am am thinking that we have the Rod Barnes of football. He will do just enough not to get fired and runs his program with good hardworking players. He is failing to recruit the highly talented players who can make the throws, catches, blocks, and tackles to win a SEC Football game.

Barnes despite the immense suckitude that he inflicted on our program after Rob Evans hard work. Ole Miss has never been great or even very good at Basketball, but Barnes damn near made me stop following it at all.

On the other hand, had he been worse and gotten fired earlier or only a little bit better and not gotten fired until last year, we would not have latched on to Kennedy (for whatever short time we have him). Maybe if you can endure one more really sucky season with Crooms, you'll land a better guy.

Not to worry. Croom will not be fired regardless of what happens this year and he will be back next year.
2009 will be the determining year of his tenure. Personally, I hope that he makes it because he brings somethings to the table that are different from most coaches, i.e. honesty, integrity, runs a squeaky clean program, recruits well, and builds character in his players. All he needs is a good OC.
