I've seen the video and both looked pretty innocent. He may have meant to do it but it didn't look like he went out of his way to do it.

One thing is for sure, ole miss fans want his head on a stake. Kinda crazy since we just knocked off their real rival.

He may have not "tried" to do it, but he certainly didn't try to avoid it. This is going to go as far as the media lets it. I do think it's pretty dumb to just flat out step on people, regardless of whether or not you are trying... at least look like you are trying to avoid the other guy.

I know of some who I believe are just as upset as LSU fans. Before the game it was pretty much "God I hope y'all beat those corn dogs!", etc...Evidently because they were confident there was no way State would win. Sort of a passive aggressive thing going on. Now all of a sudden Dillon Day is the anti-Christ to them.

He shouldn't get suspended because it's impossible to prove intent. On both plays his momentum was carrying him into the player. Yes, he didn't try to avoid it, and it he was dirty, but because of his momentum, there is no real grounds to suspend him.

The one that's being pushed is the most innocent of all imo.

Look at his momentum and look at Dak's legs. Do you want to be the guy that breaks your star QBs ankle, or do you want to hop over him and risk stepping on a tummy?

We're not talking about Nick "I like hurting people" Fairley **** here.

Did the refs just not see these, or did a ref see these and not throw a flag?

If a ref saw it and didn't flag it, then the SEC should not overrule the ref.
If no ref saw either one, the SEC should look into it, BUT remember that these things always look a whole lot worse in slow motion than in actual speed.

It's football people. You get hit, slapped and sometimes stepped on.

Ever heard of a career-ending stepped-on tummy injury? Not me. It was in the flow of the play. Glad he avoided twisting an ankle trying to be nice.

3 options:
1) jump over the LSU player that rolled into your landing path and extend your foot risking potential injury where you probably fall on him anyway
2) stomp on LSU player
3) stomp on your heisman candidate ** starting qb

He didn't just land on him. He stomped his foot down hard on the guy's stomach. Looks dirty to me. Hopefully he just gets a warning and not suspended because with Muniz at center we're 17d

I think it was slowed down and then went to real speed. Didnt look like that on tv. That clip definetly been doctored

Please explain what move you expected a 280 offensive lineman to make in mid air to change where he was going to land after he jumps 3 feet in the air to avoid stepping on his own QB.

Im sorry but UM lost their thug card to wave when their DL tried to take out our guys knee in the egg bowl that time and they said NOTHING. It's gone. No more. Goodbye. MSU is getting the press this week so deal with it.

and suspend Day? For what? An unsportsmanlike penalty?? Getting ejected?? Fight on field? Who is making something about it besides UM fans and whining LSU fans?? F no you don't. That again would be the most M State thing ever. So we are letting UM fans dictate who we should suspend now?

oh yea, and which school has two players being sued for putting someone in the hospital??

No, but it wouldn't

Surprise me if he did get suspended. Since we get flagged for infractions and other teams do the same with no penalty. See alabama, tsun, just to name a few.

I agree, there isn't enough there and no

Penalty was called. He was taking care of #1, himself and the lsu guy was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

No way that's a dirty play. An offensive lineman doesn't have the agility and flexibility of a WR or RB. Once they get moving they go that direction until their inertia winds down.

Also notice in that gif at least three LSU players saw him do that and none got in his face about it. They recognized it for what it was - an honest football play.

I'd like to see the real time video again, looks like the GIF clearly slows down and speeds up. It's hard to tell with doctored footage.

When he started the jump, his landing spot would have cleared both players. The LSU player rolled there while he was mid air. I'd be disappointed if he was suspended for something disputable like that.

That's between Mullen and Day. He may be disciplined and we'll never hear about it. A review of all the articles written in the Louisiana sports press doesn't even mention it. It didn't have anything to do with the outcome of the game, isolated incident. They happen.

nothing to suspend. whining by shartheads does not equate a suspension.

we can compile a video of the extracurricular activity guven to dak on every tackle. it is what it is. if there was something going on by Day repeatedly through the game, the refs would have eventually caught him.

sorry, but all these extraneous posts are silly.

hey guys..... it's called football! Did he intend to step on someone? heck no... he was trying to avoid Dak and hurting Dak while being tackled. Hey.... if the guy is in good shape, he returns to the game... which the LSU player did. How many games do you see line play that might appear to be coached to take out the legs of a defensive lineman?

I am sure coach will review it, along with Hevesey.

Again.... boys... it's called football and you play hard out on the field.

If he is suspended...does that mean Muniz plays the whole game against Texas A&M?

im gonna be pissed if mullen even entertains this suspension ********. what? he took a running jump to deliver a stomp to someones midsection? the idea that this was premeditated is ludicrous. once airborne, he was going to land on the lsu player. it then becomes a matter of where and how. i see no ill-intent aside from the video that was sped up to make it look like something excessively malicious.

did he try to avoid contact or take it easy on the lsu player? no, but thats not his responsibility. 34-29.

i did however think he should get criticism for the late hit, but thats a PF that was dealt with on the field and the page was turned.

It seems like I've heard somewhere that Desper is projected at center next year. In any case I think we'd see a backup guard and not Muniz.
